Howl Will I Know

But I feel her. Still there. Not hurt. Not fading. Just pleasure. So much fucking pleasure that I can barely breathe through it.

Her body convulses around my cock. Again. Again. The bond takes every pulse and magnifies it until I’m inside her orgasm, drowning in it.

“Oh, God, Nora.”

“Hewit.” Her eyes flutter open, a tear spilling from the corner of her eye. “So, so good.”

I thrust once, and she cries out as the bond flares again. That’s all it takes. I come harder than I ever have in my life. My pleasure pours into her, and hers crashes back into me. I bury my face against Nora’s shoulder and ride it out with her while my wolf howls inside my chest.

The room disappears. Time disappears. For a few seconds, maybe longer, there’s nothing but her. Us.

Then Nora goes limp beneath me.

I lift my head. Her eyes are closed. “Nora?”

Her lips curve. “Still here.”

I exhale hard as my forehead drops to hers. “You scared the shit out of me.”

“Sorry, I was busy counting the stars. Possibly from another galaxy.”

Her eyes open slowly. Still Nora’s. Same color and shape. No fever or bones cracking. Nothing yet, but Scarlett didn’t change straightaway either. It took days for the bite to work through her, for her wolf to finally make itself known.

The thought catches somewhere in my chest, but I shove it aside. Not now. Whatever happens next, happens next. Right now, Nora is here. She chose me. She chose the bite, the bond, all of it.

And when she looks up at me, her expression is blissful. I stare at her, awed, still trying to understand the enormity of what just happened.

She touches my face, her fingertips brushing my cheek. “What?”

“You.”

A sleepy smile tugs at her mouth. “What about me?”

“I don’t know.” A laugh escapes me, rough and disbelieving. “Just you.”

Her smile grows, and I let myself look at her properly. Her eyes are clear. Her skin is flushed from everything we just did, the bite at her throat already reddening around the edges.

Seeing it brings a flicker of unease with it, but I push that away too. We knew what the bite could mean.

Because something has changed.

The bond hums between us, so different from what was there before that I don’t know how I ever mistook that unfinished ache for this. There’s no strain now, no constant reaching for something I can almost touch but never quite hold.

Nora is simply there. A fundamental awareness of her that feels as natural as knowing where my own hands are without having to look at them.

The certainty hits me so hard that I laugh.

Nora’s eyebrows lift. “What?”

“It worked.”

Her amusement disappears. “The bond?”

“Yeah.” I touch the mark at her throat carefully, running my thumb beside it rather than over the tender skin. “I can feel you.”

“You could feel me before.”

“Not like this.” I shake my head, frustrated by how impossible it is to explain. “Before, it was like…” I search for something that makes sense. “Like knowing you were on the other side of a door. I knew you were there. I could feel you. But there was still something between us.”
