“Your favorite rom-coms.”

“You… really? You want to watch one?”

“Went with the mail one, if you’re interested in watching.”

He waved back into his room.

Me alone in a hotel room with a casual Silas? That was a terrible idea.

“Sure. I think you’re going to like this one.”

“We’ll see about that,” he said. He fiddled with the TV as I eyed my seating options. Like in my room, it was either the bed itself or the desk chair. But Silas had his piled with his luggage.

He shot me a smile as he got on the bed.

“Are you going to talk through the movie?”

“No. But I might mouth the lines of dialogue. You have been warned.

“Stop that,” Silas demanded a while later.

“Stop what?”

“Watching me watch the movie.”

“I can’t help it. I need to make sure you’re enjoying the right parts.”

He seemed to be, if not outright loving it, then at least paying close attention. I even saw him crack a smile and let out a small laugh.

“Out of curiosity,” he said when the credits rolled, “how many of these favorite movies of yours involve one of the main characters lying to the other one?”
