“Oh, God, he’s just…ugh…amazing. I mean, before he even gets out of bed in the morning, he’s calling me because I was on his mind and he wanted to hear my voice. And he came to the bar when I was working and just kissed me in front of everyone. It was…” My voice trails off as I remember that kiss in the bar and the one when he dropped me off last night and my smile widens.
“How did the date go?” Addy asks.
“Incredible. He picked me up here and before we even walked out the door, I was swooning.”
She snorts and Daisy starts laughing, Addy and I joining her.
“I know it sounds stupid, like some kind of Disney movie on steroids but seriously. He apologized for not being a gentleman when he kissed me in the bar and I told him that it was okay and I liked it. But he just said that he liked me and wanted more than sex from me so he was gonna do this right from now on.”
They both let out a dreamy sigh and we all start laughing again.
“Anyway,” I continue, wiping my eyes. “He took me to this barbecue place that was amazing. While we were waiting for our food, he pulled me out onto the dance floor and kissed me again. It was incredible.”
“Wow,” Daisy and Addy mumble at the same time and we all start giggling again. My brothers may not like Ryan but I’m glad that I can talk to my friends about him.
“Tucker kissed me,” Daisy blurts out and I turn to her with wide, shocked eyes.
“What?”
“Yeah, uh, he came by my house last night – drunk – and he kissed me.”
I stare at her for a moment, trying to wrap my head around what she just said. Daisy and my brother? Actually, now that I think about it, it doesn’t seem that crazy. I march over to her and stand in front of her chair.
“So, like, is something going on between the two of you?”
She shakes her head. “No. I mean, I had a little crush on him when we were kids but that was years ago. I’m sure it meant nothing.”
She stares up at me with a surprised look on her face, like she didn’t mean to say that much and the more I think about her with my brother, the more I like it. It would be amazing to get the two of them together. A plan starts forming in my head and I smile down at her.
“Well, we’re gonna find out.”
“What?”
With a smile still on my face, I begin outlining my plan for them, which is actually pretty simple. We will all go back to Moe’s and as soon as Trey sees my skimpy little dress, he will call Tucker. When Tucker gets there, he will see Daisy dancing with some guy and we’ll see if he gets jealous.
“That’s almost exactly what Joel said this morning,” Daisy adds and my smile widens. Joel, Daisy’s gay coworker, is exactly what we need to make my plan perfect.
“Joel! He’s perfect! You can dance with him instead of finding some random guy at the bar.”
“I’ll call him,” Addy chimes in as she jumps off the couch and goes into the kitchen to call him.
“Get up!” I command, holding out the red dress. “Go put this on.”
She pushes herself out of the chair and takes the dress from me, dragging her feet to the bathroom. I stand outside, tapping my foot as I wait for her to come out and show us.
“Daisy!” I yell, pounding on the bathroom door when I can’t take the suspense anymore. “Let me see!”
After a beat, the door opens and I smile. Daisy looks incredible in the dress – the material clinging to her and accentuating her generous curves. I rub my hands together, excited to get to Moe’s and put my plan into motion.
“Oh, my brother is so screwed.”

Daisy, Addy, and I walk back into Moe’s in dresses that are sure to get some attention tonight and I smile, confident my plan will work. I’ve been thinking about what Daisy told us all the way here and I can’t believe I never saw it before. She and Tucker always had a special bond but I just assumed he thought of her as another sister but with this new information, I wonder if there have been feelings on both sides since the beginning.
I glance over toward the bar and sure enough, like clockwork, Trey finds me in the crowd and frowns as he pulls his phone out of his pocket. I give him a few seconds to type out a text before glaring at him.
“Trey Andrew Davis! Don’t you dare!” I yell, just like we planned, and he just shrugs, stuffing his phone back in his pocket.
