I felt none of those things. I was grateful.

“I know I’ve lived a mostly sheltered life despite who my father is, but you don’t need to protect me from the truth. I know Rex ordered them to do that because they are, or were, who he trusted to do stuff like that.”

“He’s a piece of shit.” The words came out so deep and visceral I couldn’t help but smile.

“I appreciate you being angry on my behalf. It’s very sweet.” I pressed a kiss to that small dip between his chest muscles. “Thank you.”

He nodded, eyes drifting to the ceiling while I worked my way down, lathering him up again. I took my time when I got to his cock. Longer than strictly necessary. Even longer on his firm ass.

“Ivy,” he growled.

“Sorry,” I giggled, not at all sorry. “You have a beautiful body, Knox.” I still could hardly believe he was mine.

“You’re killing me,” he said.

I smiled to myself and finished cleaning him until I was sure no trace of blood remained. He dried off while I gathered up his clothes and sealed them in a plastic bag to be dealt with later. When I turned back around, he was watching me. “Feeling better?”

“Thank you. That was… fuckin’ great.”

“You didn’t have to, but thank you for defending my honor.” There was not one time in my life where anyone had stood up for me in that way. Not when I was getting made fun of in school, and certainly not when Rex let his bikers talk about my clothes, my looks, my sexual experience.

Knox barked out a laugh and shook his head. “You’re welcome?” He pulled me into his body and dropped a kiss on top of my head. “At least now you won’t have to worry about them coming back.”

I appreciated that. Truly. But I was Rex Price’s daughter, and I knew how he operated. “He’ll just send someone else.”

Knox nodded. “Yeah, I’m counting on it honestly. Rex is knee deep in shit and as far as we can tell, nobody else knows.”

My heart rate sped up. “So the stuff I gave you was useful?”

“Hell yeah, it is. There’s a lot to figure out but if anybody can do it, Switch can.”

“Yeah, that’s good,” I said. Nobody had ever really stood up to Rex or challenged him. He was a brutal leader who used violence and humiliation to lead his MC, but he hadn’t experienced much push back as far as I could tell. “The loss of Samson and Vulture will rile him up big time.”

“That’s what I’m counting on. We’ve given him plenty of reasons to be pissed off tonight.” He looked like he wanted to say more, then let it go. He looked tired, which made sense because it was late and I imagine killing people was exhausting, but I felt the erection pressed against my belly.

I looked up at him with about a million questions burning in my eyes.

Knox smiled and my knees wobbled. “Forget about Rex,” he whispered, grabbing the hem of my shirt and tugging it over my head. “For the rest of the night let’s forget about him.”

“Done,” I shot back in a breathy voice.

“Good, because all I want to think about for the rest of the night is all the ways I can make you scream my name.”

I shivered at those dirty words. At the thought of screaming his name all night long. “Yes, please.”

Knox claimed my mouth in a punishing kiss that shot straight to the bundle of nerves between my thighs. My arms and legs wrapped around him immediately, nestling his length exactly where I craved him. “Ivy,” he growled, burying his face in my neck.

“Yes, Knox. Now.”

He laid me on the bed and came down with me, the delicious weight of him a wicked comfort I wasn’t expecting. “Need. You. Now.”

My whole body lit up like a lightning storm. “Yes,” I moaned again, slipping my hand between us to stroke him.

He pulled back just a little and slid in one, long, slow push. “Fuck!” He shuddered and I felt beautiful and desirable.

Powerful.

His hips moved as if they were powered by a machine, fast, shallow strokes that stole my breath at first, and then longer, deeper, harder thrusts that pushed me closer and closer to the edge.
