Let Me In, Please

The first house Tahji and I went to wasn’t the right house. In fact, there wasn’t anything there. Just an empty lot where a house should have been. That sight almost sent me over the edge. Then I saw a hunter opening a door to the house across the street. I didn’t fuck with hunters. They had to be the most delusional beings on this planet. Hunters were humans who felt like vampires should be slaves for humans. Our powers needed to be used for the bettering of humanity. Yeah, they were smoking the purest form of Blood Rocks, thinking vampires would willingly be anybody’s slaves. Shit, we barely did our own labor. What the fuck did we look like serving weak-ass humans? Normally, I would have minded my business when it came to a hunter. If they left me alone, I’d leave their bitch asses alone. But when she opened the door to the house, Quinny’s scent hit my nose like she was right in front of me. It didn’t take a second thought. I went over to the house the hunter disappeared into. I couldn’t see Quinny, but I felt her. She was in that house, and while that was good news, getting in was a problem for us. Since I couldn’t tell the state of Quinny’s being, Tahji and I tried to figure out how to get into the house.

Right when I was about to try to mindspeak with Quinny, she called out to me, and when she opened that front door, it was like seeing her for the first time. Calling Quinny just beautiful was almost an insult to her. She was beyond beautiful. Her beauty easily made you do a double take. The way her long locs flowed down her back, the natural curviness to her body. Quinny was a lot juicier than any female I’d been with, but I loved all the extra meat on her. I really loved watching her fat ass bouncing on my dick. I would never get enough of her. When Quinny walked in the room, everything around her stopped moving. She commanded my attention without even having to try. Everything about Quinny was effortless, and that made her stand out even more. To me, there wasn’t anyone better than Quinny.

We both stood here grinning at each other, like she hadn’t been kidnapped and I was supposed to be rescuing her. I’m sure to everyone around us, we looked goofy as hell, but that didn’t matter to me. I had my soulmate back.

“Of course you can come in,” Quinny said in a soft, sultry tone. My dick twitched. Everything about her turned me on.

I smiled, stepping across the doorframe while I pulled her soft body into mine. I kissed her eagerly. I was hungry for Quinny. It had been too long since I felt her lips on mine. The world around us disappeared, leaving only us in the room. Not having Quinny with me caused my entire body to ache with longing. Now that I had her back, all the pain I felt while she wasn’t around left my body. I vowed to never allow Quinny to be out of my sight this long again.

Tahji clearing his throat from behind me brought me back to reality. I slightly turned, looking over my shoulder.

“Uh, y’all gone let me in or not?” he asked, rubbing the back of his neck.

“My bad.” My voice came out heavy. “You can come in,” I said, stepping to the side, pulling Quinny with me as I made room for Tahji to walk in the house.

“Sup, sis?” Tahji said to Quinny with a lopsided smirk as he stepped into the house. “It’s good to see you’re safe.”

“Thank you for coming to help save me,” Quinny replied, returning his smile.

The hunter squinted her eyes. She ran them over me, then Tahji, then went back to Quinny. “Quinny baby, please tell me you aren’t mated to a vampire,” the hunter asked with a subtle look of disgust on her face.

“I am,” Quinny confidently replied. My chest swelled with pride hearing how proudly she claimed me. “Why does it matter? And why aren’t you shocked about finding out Kenji is a vampire?”

“She’s a hunter,” I answered Quinny, causing her to look up at me in confusion. “How do you know a hunter, though?” I returned Quinny’s confused gaze, looking down at her. If Quinny didn’t know about vampires, I wouldn’t expect her to be associated with a hunter.

“Tha—” Quinny went to say, but the hunter screamed.

“Get down!” she yelled as a dagger flew past her.

At the last split second, I jerked Quinny and me to the side. The swooshing sound of the knife cut through the air where my head had been. It slammed into the door behind me, with the blade securely wedged into the wood. We all turned in the direction the knife had come from. Dante’s bitch ass stood there huffing and puffing.

“Really?” I asked, looking Dante right in the eyes. The smile on my face might have been a happy one, but it wasn’t for a happy reason.

Dante had just given me another reason to kill his bitch ass. Not that I needed one, but it just added fuel to an already lit fire. I hoped Dante enjoyed every minute of the day today. This was going to be his last day on this earth. He stood there with jealousy in his eyes as he glared at Quinny in my arms. I couldn’t understand: if Dante had his soulmate, how was he having any feelings for Quinny? There wasn’t another female, human, vampire, or anything in between, who compared to Quinny in the slightest. From the moment I laid eyes on her, it was over for any other female. I didn’t understand what the hell was going on with him.

“Fuck boy, how you jealous of me and my soulmate when you have your own soulmate right next to you?” I used my head to point towards the female vampire standing next to him.

Dante cut his eyes towards his soulmate, then back to me. “Neither of us wants this mateship. Why do you think we’re helping with this?” He waved his hand back and forth in front of himself. “The Empress doesn’t want the three of you to complete your Blood Mating Bonds. She said if we help, she’ll break our connection.”

“Since when can you break a soulmate connection?” Tahji asked what I was thinking.

Of course, we had magic in our world, but I’d never heard of any magic strong enough to sever the connection of a soulmate. I wanted to know who the hell the Empress was too. I’d never heard of any vampire being called the Empress. Whoever she was, why did she care about us completing our bonds with our soulmates?

Dante’s mate shrugged her shoulders. “We hadn’t either, but we both want this dumb-ass connection broken,” she grunted, folding her arms across her chest.

Yeah, these two dumb mutha fuckas were really made for each other. I’d never heard any goofy shit about soulmates wanting to not be together. That went against everything vampires stood for.

“And what, you were gonna make Quinny your mate?” I asked with my eyebrow cocked.

“Pretty much,” Dante answered with a serious face.

I couldn’t help but laugh at the dumb shit coming out of Dante’s mouth. I didn’t know if his ignorance was funny or if I should have felt bad for his slow ass. He really believed he had a chance with Quinny. When I said they’d have to kill me before I would let him have Quinny, I meant that. There wasn’t magic on the earth that was strong enough to keep me and Quinny apart. I will say Dante was determined, and if he used that same determination somewhere else, he would have been successful. However, when it involved my soulmate, he’d fail every time.

“You ready to die or nah?” I asked, stepping in front of Quinny. I placed her safely behind me. There wasn’t any point in prolonging the inevitable. We might as well get this over with.

“Too bad I won’t be the one dying here,” Dante said, smirking.

He reached behind his back, and he was about to pull something out. The hunter lifted her gun, shooting Dante right in the mouth. The power from her gun sent him flying back into the wall.
