Let Me In, Please

“Honey, who is she talking about?” Melinda asked Benji, then she looked over at Quinny and me.

I had no feelings towards Melinda one way or another. She’d always just been Benji’s mate to me. I never saw the point in getting to know her because I knew once Benji found his soulmate, she’d be long gone. I didn’t imagine her being around as long as she lasted. Melinda was sticking to Benji like glue. The clueless expression on Melinda’s face made me want to smack Benji’s stupid ass myself; he still hadn’t told her about finding Sutton, his soulmate. This shit was gonna end bad for him, and if my soulmate and I had problems because of this shit, I would beat Benji’s ass.

Benji looked at Melinda, shaking his head. “We finna go. I’ll catch up with you later,” Benji said, grabbing Melinda’s hand and walking off before anyone could say anything else.

“Take me home now!” Quinny demanded like she ran shit. She might have run Dante’s weak ass, but I wasn’t him.

I was going to bring her ass home, but shit wasn’t finna play out how she thought. Quinny had another thing coming if she thought I was gonna let her get away with talking to me the way she did. Yeah, this wasn’t that. She was my soulmate, but disrespect still wouldn’t be tolerated. If I had to spend the next fifty years showing her I wasn’t the one to be fucked with, then so be it. Until Quinny learned respect, I was gonna be on her ass. She’d figure the shit out eventually.

Chapter 17

Quinny Parks

I always had a problem when it came to letting my anger control me. Finding out Benji had another girl he was parading around while he had my sister locked away somewhere sent me over the fucking edge. I’d always been my sister’s keeper, and if I felt like someone was trying to take advantage of her, I went into big sister mode. Sutton could definitely handle herself; however, she couldn’t move properly if she was being lied to. I was more than positive Benji hadn’t mentioned anything about Melinda to my sister. Sutton wouldn’t be as calm as she has been if she knew about Melinda. She might have been giving Benji a little hell, but it wasn’t anything compared to what she could really do. The fact she was willingly staying where Benji had her said a lot about her being in the dark. Just knowing how Sutton thought she felt about Benji pissed me off even more, knowing he was playing with her. It was okay. As soon as I got back home, I was going to call Sutton and let her know what Benji had been hiding from her.

I thought I was, anyway. That was if Kenji didn’t take my head off first. He hadn’t said a word to me since we walked out of Regina’s party. If I never saw Regina’s stiff-faced ass again, it would be too soon. Her entire aura screamed misery. As soon as she walked over to us, it felt like she sucked the happiness from the room. As nice as Kenji’s dad seemed, I didn’t see how they were together. Opposites attract, I supposed. I mean, Kenji and I were night and day.

Yet somehow, we were soulmates. That’s what I kept reminding myself to calm my nerves over the cold demeanor he’d started giving me. He still opened the car door for me when his chauffeur arrived, but he wouldn’t look at me. In the car, he sat all the way on the opposite side of the car. He was acting like I had a fucking incurable disease. As much as I didn’t want to admit it, I missed Kenji’s presence. It may have only been an hour of Kenji being emotionless and detached towards me; however, it felt like a lifetime to me when I was used to him showering me with love and attention. The one time I built the courage to try to apologize while we were riding home, Kenji ignored my ass when I called his name. Not one to beg, I took my ass back over to my side of the car and allowed the tension in the car to fill the space between us. My heart hammered in my chest as we pulled up in front of our house, Kenji’s house. I didn’t know what to expect from Kenji. I mean, he was a vampire, and for all I knew, he could be planning to drain me dry and bury me in his backyard. A laugh slipped from my lips at my own crazy-ass thoughts. I knew without a doubt the last thing Kenji would do was kill me. Kenji cut his eyes at me when I laughed, giving me an icy glare, silencing my laugh.

Without a word, Kenji got out of the car once his door was opened, then his hand appeared for me to grab. I hesitated. Nervous energy flowed through my body as I tried to read Kenji. He was unreadable, and against my own reservations, I placed my hand into Kenji’s, allowing him to help me from the car. Goofily, I looked up, hoping to see the warm love that usually flowed in Kenji’s eyes, but no, I was met with his lethal gaze that had me ready to jump back into the car.

“Walk,” Kenji told me in a cold and stoic voice.

“I shouldn’t have yelled at you.” I figured I might as well attempt to apologize. It’s not like I had anything to lose. “I was upset. You don’t understand how much I love my sister. I take things very personally when it comes to her…” My words trailed off, seeing Kenji’s jaw clenching. He wasn’t moved by my explanation.

I sighed, turning on my heels, and I led us towards the house. Kenji’s heavy footsteps echoed behind me. I stopped at the front door, waiting for Kenji to open the door with his scanner thingy. I waited two minutes before I turned to see Kenji just standing there, his eyes burning a hole in me.

“Umm, are you going to open the door?” I cautiously asked, avoiding eye contact. The coldness from Kenji was starting to scare me. I wondered if he was really done with me. I found it frustrating how easy it was for him to turn off his feelings for me when he claimed he couldn’t live without me.

“Open it,” Kenji said, clasping his hands in front of himself. His posture came off as intimidating, and for once, I felt tiny in front of him.

“I can’t,” I replied, confused. He knew I couldn’t open the door yet. Kenji had mentioned he was going to get my handprint added to the system, but of course, he hadn’t had the time to do it yet.

Kenji took a menacing step forward. I stumbled back. His emotionless face changed to a dark, menacing one that made my soul set fire. “Figure it out.”

“Or you can put your hand on the scanner and open the door for us.” I smiled, trying to hide the full extent of my sarcasm.

“Can I?” Kenji said, closing the distance between us. He pressed his body into mine, pushing my back into the front door. “My hands are preoccupied,” he gruffly said as I felt his hands running up my exposed thigh.

I shivered. My body reacted to Kenji’s touch without my consent. My pussy came to life, watering itself more and more the further up his hands went. “Kenji,” I moaned as his fingers found their way to the outside of my panties. He tugged at the seat of my panties.

“Shut up,” he fiercely demanded, then he tore my panties from my body effortlessly.

Kenji brought the ripped fabric to his nose. He inhaled deeply, hunger in his eyes as he gazed at me without blinking. My breath was caught in my throat, my body heating up out of control. His eyes were glowing brighter than I’d ever seen before. “Didn’t I tell you to watch how you talk to me? I’m your soulmate, right?”

“YyyYes,” I answered while nodding my head nervously. I wasn’t just telling Kenji what he wanted to hear either. I really did believe we were soulmates. It was the only thing that could explain the connection that was between us. How deeply I felt for Kenji after knowing him less than a week couldn’t make sense in any other way except if we were meant to be together.

“Do I disrespect you?”

“I mean… you, uh, told me to shut up a few times,” I joked, trying to lighten up the mood.

However, I instantly regretted my words when I looked at the nasty scowl on Kenji’s face.

Getting right in my face, Kenji’s face was only inches from mine as he said, “Stop fuckin’ with me.” Kenji placed his hands on each side of the doorframe. I heard a familiar chime, then the sound of the door unlocking. I looked to my left, seeing Kenji had accidentally placed his hand on the scanner.

“I was just playing,” I said as I slickly reached behind me, opening the front door. I almost busted my ass as I tried to take off into the house.

I had no idea where I was going. The house was big but not big enough for me to hide from Kenji. I didn’t make it far before I heard Kenji’s dark laughter that made me turn around. He wasn’t chasing me. He stood in the doorway with his lips twisted into a sinister grin that made my heart race, hands sweat, and my pussy throb.
