I smiled, loving that she was showing interest. “You accept that we are soulmates. You submit yourself to me and then we live happily ever after.” I gave her the water downed version of things. I left a few minor details out but they wouldn’t matter until later.
“I have to live with you or do you move in with me?” She asked with a pout on her pretty face.
“Because of who I am, you have to come live with me.” I told her. I wasn’t a regular ass vampire and I had to move differently than the rest of them.
“What does that mean? Are you some kind of thug or something? I don’t date criminals.” Quinny had a disgusted expression.
Was I a thug? Eh, it depended on who you asked.
Vampires didn’t have kings and queens; instead there were five families, called the Usra, that ruled over five different regions of the earth. Each family in the Usra ruled over the vampires who lived in their regions and set laws for them to abide by. Some Usra families were straight ass holes and took from the vampires who lived under their rule. The five families worked together to keep harmony among all the vampires, well they were supposed to anyway. My dad was the head of the Touré family, which ruled over the fifth region of the world. For years Benji and I were our dads muscles. We silenced anyone who opposed his rule, humans who got too close, threats against our family, anything deemed detrimental to the Touré name we took care of. Taking the lives of humans and vampires alike never bothered me. I understood it was a necessary evil when your family was in power.
What I hated was the other underhanded shit my dad had us involved in. Vampires lived so long that life lost its flare and often they would look for other ways to add excitement to life. Which led to the creation of Blood Rocks, an addictive drug that got vampires high to the point they couldn’t function. All the vampire would want to do is get high, nothing else mattered once the addiction took over. It was crazy how no one knew who created Blood Rocks but everyone knew where to get them from. Only one of the five Usra families, Elio, didn’t allow Blood Rocks in the second region. While the rest of the families freely sold to their people turning a good portion of the vampires into junkies. My dad was one of those leaders who loved the money that blood rocks brought in so he didn’t think twice when he sold that shit.
Selling blood rocks was the only thing I ever went against my dad about. I refused to be a part of that shit but Benji and Tahji didn't object. The way they saw it, if the vampires wanted to use it, why stop them, especially if it put more money in their pockets. Although none of us needed it, after living for 350 years money was the least of mine or my families worries. Between our families fortune and our own money we’d made, we had trillions of dollars. Our family was the richest family in the Usra. We didn’t need to sell blood rocks and I had no plans of joining my brothers or dad in doing that dumb shit.
“Nope, I’m just a very important vampire.” I smirked at Quinny. She tried to hide her blushing face with a frown but I saw that smile that almost broke through.
“Important, like a king type of important?” She skeptically asked, placing her hand on her wide hip. My fangs ached, I couldn’t wait to sink them into her meaty hip, another place I planned on leaving my mark.
“Nah, we don’t do that king shit. But I run shit with my brothers.” I replied biting down on my bottom lip. I had to do something before I lost the little self control I had left in me.
When my dad step down as the leader of our family he wanted to pass his reign over to me and his soulmate lost her fucking mind. She swore our dad was showing favoritism towards us and how Tahji should have been the rightful heir because he came from their soulmate bond. A bunch of bullshit honestly, Regina wanted to be a bitch. She knew that when a leader stepped down their oldest offspring took over. The only reason my dad split it between Benji and I was because he knew I didn’t care to run all this shit on my own and he knew I would have stopped selling Blood Rocks in our region. Regina was livid but she couldn’t do shit besides run my dad crazy. Tahji was to fucking young at the time to be anybodies leader. Benji and I waited about 100 years before we allowed Tahji to step in and help us run our region. Regina tried to add her two cents about everything once Tahji joined us as the leaders. For the most part Tahji knew to ignore Regina because the shit she wanted was delusional as fuck.
The only thing Tahji allowed Regina to talk him into was marrying Koa, she is the daughter of Kioda Ansel, the leader of the third region. Regina called herself building alliances and shit like that was going to bring what she wanted to fruition. Regina wanted to turn all humans into vampires for whatever reason she thought that would be a smart idea. Clearly she wasn’t thinking with common fucking sense, because if there were no humans left who the fuck would we feed from? No matter how many times my dad explained that shit to her she refused to let go of her delusional ass dream. Honestly, if it wasn’t for my dad and Tahji I would have killed Regina centuries ago. My dad swore he had her under control but I let him know the moment she overstepped, Regina was dead.
Quinny looked at me with her lips twisted up, “How old are you Kenji?”
“How old do you think I am?” I asked with an amused grin.
“You look young and you got all those fucking tattoos. I wanna say you're in your twenties but I know that can’t be right because you’re a vampire. Are you like a hundred years old?” She asked me and although I knew she was serious I had to laugh. I hadn’t been that young in years. A 100 years in vampire years was teenager years to humans.
“You’re not even close baby love.”
“Let’s make a deal,” Quinny said with hopefulness in her eyes.
“I’m listening.”
If I guess your age you let me go and never bother me again. I get three more guesses,”
“And if you don’t? What do I get?” I asked in a taunting tone. Granted I had no plans of honoring anything that would keep me away from Quinny. She was crazy as hell for even suggesting that.
Her eyes darted from side to side as if she was trying to come up with an answer that would benefit the both of us. “I uh, you umm,” She nervously stumbled over her words, nervously fidgeting under my gaze, “I guess I’ll have to go with you.” Quinny said, shrugging her shoulders in defeat.
“I don’t like that deal.”
“Why not? You get what you want if you win and if I win I get what I want.” She said sound pissed.
“For one, I’m never going to leave you alone forever. You are my forever. Two I don’t want you to come with me because I won a bet. When you do submit to me it will be of your own free will.”
A tremble rumbled through Quinny’s body and I watched her try to discreetly clench her thighs together. My soulmate got turned on by my words. Her arousal was starting to linger in the air. Her dress and lack of panties allowed her scent to fill the air around us heavier than normal. I made a mental note to only allow her to wear dresses and skirts from now on.
“Ken-” She went to say my name but the ringing of her phone stopped her. Quinny looked down at the phone then back up at me. She was nervous and unsure if she should answer.
With my head cocked to the side I asked. “Who is that?” I knew her ex had been blowing her up.
Despite her trying to convince me Dante was her current boyfriend I already knew he was her ex. The way he was begging for her forgiveness in his text messages spoke the truth. Even if Dante was still her boyfriend it wouldn’t make me a difference, Quinny would be mine no matter what. If I had to kill Dante so be it, he wouldn’t be the first human I’d have to kill.
Quinny gave me a defiant look as I watched her answer the phone. “Dante, where are you?” She asked, trying not to look me in the eyes but our eyes kept connecting.
