“You did so great,” I praised him, standing quickly to tuck in my dick, zip up, and do my belt before sitting down and reaching for him.
He moved quickly, scrambling into my lap, and searched my eyes—for what, I wasn’t sure.
“You were perfect,” I went on.
“Holy shit.” He burrowed close, and I felt him shiver. “I always thought I was a badass, but that was so scary.”
“What was scary about it?” I rubbed his back, hoping to soothe him.
“I thought you were going to be pissed.”
“No. It was like we’d planned it,” I murmured in his ear, inhaling his scent, the sound making him squirm in my lap.
“You’re driving me crazy. I’m getting chills.”
“It was hot, how you ordered me around,” I teased, kissing up his throat, nibbling, knowing I would end up leaving a bruise on his beautiful bronze skin.
“Was it?”
“It was,” I crooned, loving that we were absolutely plastered together, as close as we could be, only thin layers of fabric between us.
“I got my dick out because I’d rather him see mine than yours.”
“He didn’t see much of it. You had it shoved down my throat.”
His moan made me laugh.
“You didn’t have to reciprocate,” I said softly.
“You wanted it.”
“I’m a guy, aren’t I? I’m breathing, aren’t I?”
He laughed and pressed tighter against me.
“Just realize that you have absolutely nothing to be sorry for,” I said.
“Duncan, I—”
“Stop second-guessing me. Why would I lie to you?”
Instantly, he settled against me, heavy and wrung out.
A few minutes later, when I got him to his feet, I had my arm around him, my hand in his hair, as he walked beside me, leaning heavily.
The adrenaline that must have been pumping through his system the entire time had completely dissipated. He was barely on his feet.
“I’m sorry,” he said, sounding worried—not like him at all.
“There’s nothing to be sorry about.”
Miguel was there at the door that led from the patio back inside. He had directions and a code to get onto the property in Sedona. We were expected the following afternoon. I explained to him that we all had to go back to the room and talk.
“Right away, Detective.”
I had a feeling Miguel and I were going to get along just fine.
“I’ll take care of the bar tab and be right behind you. Shall I include the tab for your friends for the rest of the evening?” he questioned Aaron.
