"Helpful. I meant the weather, the state, any information besides rodeo."

Clint crouches beside the bag and starts moving things around before I can stop him.

"Take this." He tosses a shirt in. "And this."

I narrow my eyes. "You know, I can pack my own clothes."

"Never said you couldn't."

"Then, why are you touching my bag?"

"Because if we leave it up to you, you'll bring enough clothes for a six month expedition."

The annoying thing is, he's right.

Tripp leans forward. "Pack something cute for Saturday."

I look up. "Something cute?"

"Yeah."

Clint nods. "Definitely something cute."

The look on both their faces immediately makes me suspicious.

"Oh no."

"Oh yes."

I point at them. "I don't trust either of you."

"Smart girl." That comes from Briggs, the first thing he's said in almost twenty minutes.

Every head in the room turns toward him, and by the look on his face, he immediately regrets speaking. I can see it happen; his jaw tightens and he looks away. Just like that, the moment's gone.

The silence only lasts a few seconds before Tripp throws a sock at me.

"Anyway."

I catch it.

"It’s gonna be hot during the day."

My eyes narrow. "And?"

The grin that spreads across his face should concern me.

"You ain’t gonna need much at night."

Heat rushes into my cheeks before I can stop it.

"Tripp."

"What?"

"Behave."

"No."
