“Fuck me,” he says, low. “You wore that for my fucking brothers?”

I roll my eyes. “I wore it for you.”

He chuckles. “You wore it to kill me, wife.” He’s allowed one embrace at the start of the visit and one at the end, and we use every single second of it. He wraps me up, lifts me clean off my feet, buries his face in my neck, and I freaking melt. I’ve missed him so much! His scent, his heat, how fucking big he is, the rumble starting deep in his chest. My whole being goes, finally.

“Missed you, love,” he says into my hair.

“I missed you more, Alpha.”

He sets me down and keeps my hand. We sit. He pulls my chair right up against his and drops a big, warm palm on my thigh under the table, and I’m too busy being ridiculously happy about that when the visitor door buzzes.

And in they come.

Oh.

Oh, shit.

I knew they’d be big. I did. I’ve seen pictures. But a picture doesn’t tell you what it’s like when three Greenes come through a door one after the other. The door looks small. All of them are over six feet tall. All of them built like they lift cars for fun. Wearing tailored suits. Every single one, moving with that same loose, unhurried, top-of-the-food-chain walk as the man at my side.

Three alpha wolves. And me, a five-foot-five omega.

I’m a lawyer, and they’re… what they are. I put my shoulders back and my chin up, the way Mama taught me, and I get to my feet.

They stop a few feet away. All three of them. At the exact same moment, like they’ve hit a wall.

Their nostrils flare.

And something happens that I don’t have a word for. The one in front, the oldest, with gray in his red beard, his entire face… opens. The middle one, the dark one who looks so much like Declan it warms my heart, goes still, then he tips his head down. Just an inch. At me. The youngest one’s mouth falls open.

I look up at Declan, confused. He’s smiling. A small, fierce, proud smile I’ve never seen on him before.

“They can smell me on you,” he explains quietly. “You’re bonded to their Alpha. Their wolves know who you are, love.”

I did not expect that. I have to look at the floor for a second.

“Right,” says the oldest one, and his voice is warm and a little rough. “C’mere, sweetheart.”

And this enormous, bearded man I’ve never met before in my life steps up and hugs me. Gentle, careful, and completely sincere. He smells like wool, coffee and cold air.

“I’m Aidan,” he says, winking. “The good-looking one. Welcome to the family.”

I laugh into his shoulder. “It’s so nice to meet you.”

“Aidan,” Declan says mildly. “That’s long enough.”

“He’s a jealous bastard,” Aidan tells me, still grinning, then lets go.

I like him. Oh, I like him so much!

Declan’s doppelgänger steps forward next. He’s lean where his brothers are broad, clean-shaven, in a sharp charcoal suit. Same gray eyes as Declan. He takes my hand and holds it in both of his.

“Rian,” he says, smiling warmly.

“Don’t mind him,” the young one says, shouldering past. Red hair, green eyes, a grin like the devil. Wearing a leather jacket over his dress shirt, with tattoos climbing out of his collar. He’s gorgeous, he knows it, and he is absolutely the one your mother warned you about. “I’m Finn. I’m the fun one.” He leans in, his nostrils flare, and his eyes go a little unfocused. “Damn. No wonder he tore the table.”

It happens so fast I don’t even see Declan move.

One second Finn’s nose is about six inches from my neck. The next, Declan’s on his feet, and he’s got his little brother’s hand folded backward at the wrist, and Finn’s up on his toes going “ah, ah, ah, okay, okay!”
