“Where. Is. She.”
He knows exactly who I’m talking about. Everybody in this building must know by now. “Your attorneys left.”
Attorneys. Plural. Okay. She left with Cillian. She’s out. She’s safe.
My wolf doesn’t give a shit about safe.
GONE. Gone gone gone.
I yank on the restraints, and the whole bed frame groans. Both guards go for their belts.
“Greene, don’t.”
“Take these fucking things off me.”
“Not happening.”
I look at Murphy. He looks at his taser. I stop pulling. For now.
“How long?”
“Few hours.”
A few hours. She’s been gone a few hours. I can’t smell her. I can’t see her, can’t hear her. I don’t know where she lives. I don’t have a number. I don’t even know her last fucking name.
She was right there. She was three feet from me, with those big dark eyes and that soft mouth, and I could smell her getting wet for me, and now there’s nothing. I turn my face to the ceiling so Murphy can’t see what that fucking does to me.
Find her.
I’m strapped to a bed, moron.
FIND HER.
“I know,” I say out loud, Murphy asks, “What?” and I reply, “Nothing. Get out.”
“We’re supposed to monitor…”
“Then monitor me from somewhere I don’t have to fucking smell you.”
The new one bristles. Murphy grabs his arm before he can open his mouth and get himself on my shit list. Smart. They back off down the hall.
I close my eyes.
And there she is. Deep brown skin. Big tits under her cream blouse. Thick thighs in the tailored pants, her soft belly, that mouth saying my name like she was trying it out. Declan? Her scent going sweet and heavy. Her hand reaching for me across a room full of guards.
My dick’s hard. Strapped to a bed, in isolation, with two broken ribs.
My claws punch out. I look at them. “Not helping.”
The wolf’s got one idea, and it’s the same idea he’s had for four years. Break the straps. Break the door. Go through every man between here and the gate. Except now there’s something on the other side of the gate, and he’s about ten times louder about it.
Mate. Ours. Go.
Except I’m not getting through three fences, two walls, and however many rifles they’ll put in the towers. And even if I did… where would I go? I know one word about her.
Zahra.
I say it under my breath.
