I clicked away and my email notification appeared.

Consultation Cancellation.

Another notification came through. Then another. My business line rang. I declined it. It rang again. My personal phone. My business phone. Everything started happening at once.

I stood because sitting suddenly felt impossible.

My phone rang again.

Mom. I declined.

Dad. I declined.

Klair. I declined.

I put my phone on Do Not Disturb, then my laptop dinged. “Are you fucking kidding me?”

It was another cancellation.

Given the recent information circulating online, we’ve decided to move in another direction. We wish you the best.

I closed the laptop. My phone was still lighting up despite Do Not Disturb because apparently everybody I loved had figured out how to bypass it.

I picked it back up and went to Facebook again. People were screenshotting old pictures from my business page. One woman had posted a photograph of me standing beside a married couple after completing their home.

Oh hell nah. Wasn’t she just in their house?

There were comments defending me too.

Her husband made vows, not Blair. Keep that same energy for him.

Somebody immediately replied: She knew he was married. Fuck both of them.

I couldn’t even disagree.

Why is everybody dragging her harder than the actual married man?
