He shook his head. “I never wanted—”
“I don’t give a fuck what you wanted!”
I screamed so hard my throat burned. “You did it!”
Caleb looked down.
I laughed bitterly. “Nothing to say now?”
He rubbed both hands over his face. “I went to the lounge because Ravenna texted me.”
I stared.
“She told me that ever since the Antionette Black Business Awards, she had a weird feeling about something. She said she did some digging and that she knew everything about you and I. She said she was going to the lounge.”
He paced with his hands on his head.
“She said if I didn’t get there, she was going to tear the whole fucking place apart and tell everyone. So I went.”
He swallowed.
“I was trying to get there before she did to calm her down, tell her she had it all wrong, and keep her from doing something crazy.”
I laughed and he looked at me. “What?”
“She wasn’t there, was she?”
He looked confused.
“WAS SHE THERE?”
“No. How do you know?”
I smiled. “Because it was a trap.”
Caleb went still. “What?”
“She wanted you gone.”
His face emptied and I watched realization slowly enter.
“She wanted to get inside that apartment without you there.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“Blair—”
“She came.”
His mouth closed.
“She knocked on the door five minutes after your ass ran out.”
Caleb looked like somebody had punched him. “What?”
“She came to the apartment, DUMMY.”
