“Oh yeah, you guys came with a pretty fucking hefty reputation,” Saint chuckles. “Why do you think that Zemira was so keen to introduce herself that she followed you?”

“Oh, come on, you guys were curious too,” Luc teases, making them laugh.

Saint shrugs, “I might have been. Zemi was just excited because she hoped that Ever lived up to the rumors and loved violence as much as she did.”

“She definitely has,” Zee adds with a chuckle.

“Well, I’m glad,” I say. “You guys are still the only ones who we really talk to at the organization.”

“Pete talks to the tech guys,” Luc points out. “But we all avoid going in unless we really have to.”

“Same,” Saint admits, as the house comes into view. “Let’s fill everyone in on what happened. They’re going to love this.”

Chapter Eleven

Cash

We head through the door and find the others all gathered back in the kitchen, cookies in hand and laughing at something.

“Oh hey! You guys should have come to check out the weapons room with us. It’s amazing,” Ever greets us excitedly. She pauses and studies us closely. “Have fun? I’m assuming you won?”

My smile is sharp as I stride over to her and pull her into my arms, kissing her. I mutter, “Of course we did, Il Mio Cuore.”

“How did she know what happened?” Saint asks, his eyebrow raised and his expression is well and truly confused.

Luc grins as he pulls me out of Cash’s arms and kisses me.

He looks back at the guys and explains, “Ever has an incredible eye for detail.”

“No, I don’t,” she retorts. When everyone looks at her with raised eyebrows, she continues to explain, “Cash has a bruise forming on his cheek, and there’s a tiny speck of blood in the corner of his mouth. Luc’s lip is split, and they’ve both got that smile on their faces that means they got to beat the shit out of someone.”

“Sunshine, you just proved their point,” Riot smirks.

Zemi nods. “You kind of did. I didn’t notice any of that until you said something.”

“What happened?” Trick asks. His tone isn’t concerned, he’s just curious. “I assume you weren’t fighting with each other because Saint and Zee are fine.”

Wilder narrows his eyes at Saint. “Did you pick a fight with that moose again?”

Saint gasps, “Me! It’s the moose that starts it.”

“I have no idea what that’s about, and at some point I definitely want to hear that story, but maybe we should focus on what happened?” Atlas asks, looking amused.

Saint frowns, clearly disappointed that he can’t tell his moose story, but replies, “Sorry. Matthew and the others showed up.”

“Shit,” Raid curses. His eyes widen slightly before anger darkens his expression. “They started a fight with Cash and Luc? What the hell were they thinking?”

“Erm, actually. We started it,” Luc says with a huge grin on his face.

I shrug as they all stare at us. “Saint and Zee said that they had been causing problems for a while and that they wouldn’t take no for an answer, but that they couldn’t handle it like they wanted to.”

“Oh?” Raiden asks, looking at the two of them with his eyebrow raised.

“We said it’s complicated,” Saint replies to Raid’s unasked question.

I know there are things that they haven't told us, and won’t tell us, and that’s absolutely fine. Luc and I had all the information that we needed in order to step in.

“You guys aren’t supposed to get into altercations with them,” Zemi says, looking at Saint and Zee with a worried expression.
