He lifted his chin but remained silent.

“Cleo brought over breakfast.” Imogene lifted a container. Her hair was matted down on one side, and her waves were a little frizzy and in disarray. She had on nothing but a tank top and form fitting cotton shorts. Fucking beautiful. And tempting.

“I made too much and brought it over to the clubhouse, but not many guys were around, so I figured I’d deliver some to you and Cue. It’s just bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and pancakes.” Cleo shifted her gaze between him and Imogene. “I hope I didn’t interrupt.”

“With that spread, you can interrupt anytime you want.” Imogene chuckled then waved her hand. “Besides, I’m an early riser, so I’ve been up since five.” She hooked her thumb over her shoulder, gesturing to him. “While he’s been snoring all morning.”

What the fuck?

“I don’t fucking snore.”

Imogene clamped her lips, but he noticed them twitch. “I’ll just put this in the oven so it doesn’t get cold.” She walked through the room and glanced over at him. He narrowed his gaze, which only had her lips spreading into a grin.

This was another first for him. Women didn’t usually tease Jekyll.

“Well, I should get going.” Cleo opened the door, smirking. “I guess those plates are coming in handy, after all.”

Fucking smart ass.

He pointed to the door. “Go.”

She grinned and leaned past him. “Bye Imogene. It was so nice meeting you.”

Imogene poked her head out of the doorway. “You too, Cleo. Hopefully we’ll see each other again.”

That’s exactly what I fucking need.

Cleo lifted her hand, waved to him, and walked out the door. There wouldn’t be any more hiding Imogene’s presence. He estimated five minutes before the whole club knew she was staying at his house.

Jekyll made his way into the dining room, stopping at the breakfast bar. Imogene was on her toes reaching for the plates on the top shelf, completely ignoring the paper plates at her eye level. He’d stored the ones Cleo gifted him up top, thinking he’d never use them.

He rounded the counter, nudged her away, and grabbed two, handing them to her. Imogene grabbed them with a small smile playing on her lips. She inched closer.

“Good morning,” she whispered.

She was too close to resist. He dropped his head, taking her for a kiss. Imogene turned in his arms, slipping her tongue between his lips, and moaning softly. Fuck! That was his undoing. The kiss ended too soon with his woman’s face awash in a bright shade of red.

“The reality is so much better than the fantasy.”

What?

He furrowed his brows, and she smiled. “I thought about kissing you hundreds of times.”

Fuck me. He’d thought about it too. Way too often while he was locked up and more so when he was set free. Imogene had taken up permanent space in his mind. Jekyll tightened his hold but tried to keep his composure.

“You wanna eat or fuck?”

Imogene giggled, weaving herself out of his hold.

“Do you have placemats?”

He scowled. “Do I look like I’d have placemats?”

Hell, if not for Cleo, they’d be eating on paper plates.

“No.” She snickered, holding up the blue and yellow flower patterned plate. “But you also don’t look like a man who’d have a matching dish set.”

“Smartass.”
