She blinked. “I thought you had plans.”
“I do.” He smirked. “With you.”
Her eyes widened. “Where are we going?”
“We’ll swing by the motel. You can grab your shit and check out. Then we’ll go to my place. You leave by seven on Monday, you’ll make it back to Lawry in time for your meeting.”
Her jaw fell open. “Y-you want me to stay with you until Monday morning?”
“Yeah.”
“At your place? Like in your room?”
Jekyll was no match for her cuteness, and he gave in to his smile. “Something like that.”
She would be staying in his bed but not at the clubhouse like she was thinking. He was going to give her the ultimate in with him and take her to his house.
Chapter Fourteen
When Jekyll invited Imogene back to his place, she’d assumed he meant his room at the clubhouse. But when they pulled into the driveway, he completely bypassed the front of the clubhouse and led her down the side and through a wooded area. It opened up to a small neighborhood.
What the…
She would’ve never suspected there was anything behind the clubhouse except woods. He pulled into the gray cape-style home, and the garage door opened. He parked on the left side and pointed next to him. She followed the instructions, shut down the engine and got out just as he dismounted his bike.
The garage was pretty barren with the exception of two totes in the corner and a tool bench at the back wall.
“Whose house is this?”
“Mine,” he said, walking past her to the door.
Imogene rushed, following close behind. When he walked in, she stopped in the doorway. It was obviously new construction with state-of-the-art appliances in the kitchen. It wasn’t huge, by any means, but it was the perfect size for one or two people.
“You gonna stand there all night or come in?”
Imogene stepped in, closed the door behind her, and peered around the space. The large living room was open to a decent size dining area with a glass sliding door. From her view she saw a deck and a good-size yard.
Jekyll opened the fridge, took out two beers, and popped off the caps. Imogene clutched onto her bag and walked over to the kitchen. She took the beer he offered.
“No tequila and lime here,” he teased, and she shrugged.
“I like beer every once in a while.” She took a sip and twisted her lips.
The corner of his mouth curled. “Want something else?”
“No, this is fine.”
He scanned her face, walked to the fridge, and opened the door wide. He had a collection of beers, milk, and water.
“Can I have a water please?”
He let out a faint chuckle, grabbed the water, and in a sweet move, twisted off the top for her.
“Where should I put my bag?”
He lifted his chin and she followed him down the long hallway. There were two small bedrooms that were bare and a bathroom separating them. At the very end of the hallway, Jekyll led her into another bedroom. This was bigger and furnished. Kind of. It had a bed, one night stand, and a dresser. There were no curtains, or anything hanging on the walls.
“Did you just move in?”
