Cue scoffed. “He’s banged all the club whores at the house. And visitors. Doesn’t sound like a break to me.”
Cue was right. Jekyll had barely come up for air. It had become a nightly ritual if he wasn’t on a run. But that had changed a week ago, and it seemed it hadn’t gone unnoticed by one particular brother.
“Well now, that ain’t exactly true, now is it, brother?”
Jekyll shifted his eyes to Gent, who was openly smiling. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table, arching his brow. “You seemed to have taken an oath of celibacy since your run in with the sweet little Imogene Peppercorn.”
Fucking asshole.
Jekyll wouldn’t take the bait. He’d been brothers with Gent far too long to fall for his taunting bullshit. Though, he wasn’t wrong. Since seeing Imogene in Lawry, he hadn’t been with any other woman. It had even been offered at the charter club they’d visited. He just hadn’t wanted it.
Jekyll steeled his features, staring at Gent.
“Months of deep diving pussy and one little encounter with the sweet redhead, and our boy isn’t interested anymore.” Gent sipped his drink. “Brother, I get it. There’s something about a redhead most people can’t resist.”
Oak laughed, glancing over at Cue. “Ain’t that right, Cue?”
Cue jerked his eyes across the table. “Will you shut the fuck up about her!”
Oak smacked the table. “Yeah, you know exactly who I’m talking about without even saying her name. You got it bad for Eden.”
Cue’s jaw squared, and he pushed up from the table without another word. He walked up to the second level and out to the bar in the front.
“Who’s Eden?” Jekyll asked.
“She’s the one I was talking about at the party when Cue got all pissed off.” Oak smirked, wiggling his brows.
“She hangs with Satan’s Hex,” Ghost said.
“Hangs?” Oak snorted. “She’s a club whore.”
“Oh, that’s fucking rich coming from you, asshole. You’re the biggest fuckboy in our club.” Ghost shook his head.
Oak burst out laughing, settling back in his chair. “Ghost, man, lighten the fuck up. You saw her, right? Fucking hot as hell and our boy won’t hit that? I’m looking out for him. Tell me you don’t think she’s hot.”
“With or without the bruises on her face?” Ghost stared back at Oak. “I don’t get off on women with split lips and scars from taking a beating.” The table went silent, and Ghost sipped his beer. “But if that’s your thing, then I guess she’d be hot.”
Jekyll had been briefed on most everything with the club. He’d heard, in detail, about the ambush at Satan’s Hex. He remembered Cross mentioning they’d gained access when a club whore used the code for them. But he hadn’t heard anything else.
Oak dipped his brows, his expression completely void of any humor. “What the fuck are you talking about?”
“The ambush at Satan’s? Eden was the one who used the code to get Cue, Cross, and Ace inside. And someone in the Satan’s must not have liked that ’cause when we showed up the next week, her face was bruised, along with her arms. Handprints are hard to miss.” Ghost shrugged. “And you wanna take a guess at who personally asked her to open the door?” Ghost raised his brows. “So why don’t you leave Cue alone when it comes to Eden?”
“Nobody fucking told me that.” Oak looked over at the exit. He remained quiet for a few seconds then shot up from his chair and stalked through the room and into the bar. No doubt, he was looking for Cue. And making amends.
Jekyll turned to Ghost. “We doing anything about that?”
They weren’t responsible for anyone but their own. A club whore from Satan’s shouldn’t fall under their protection. But considering Cue’s reaction, he was sensing she was more than just a random woman.
Ghost sighed, shaking his head. “Every time we’ve been back to their clubhouse, she’s not there.”
“How do you know?”
Ghost glanced over. “’Cause Cue asks. They got a prospect who hasn’t learned all the rules of secrecy. He thinks we’re friends.” He smirked. “And we use that. She’s either working or gone for the night on a run with a member.”
Ace walked up to the table, scanning the room. “Any issues with the run?”
Gent laughed. “Just that it was seven days.”
