They were obviously privy to more information than he was.

“I thought she wasn’t staying at Satan’s anymore,” Cross said.

“Me too.” Cue growled, shifting his glare to Imogene. “What else did she say?”

“That was basically it.”

Cue shot up from the table, knocking the chair half way across the room. Cross was quick to follow.

“Cue!” Cross shouted, but the brother ignored him, heading toward the wall where they hung their helmets. It was easy to see where Cue’s head was at. And where he was going.

“You three go with his ass and make sure he doesn’t do anything fucking stupid.” Cross ordered.

A ride wasn’t part of his plans for the night, especially with Imogene’s impromptu visit. But he wasn’t going to let Cue ride alone and do something dangerous.

Oak grabbed his bottle of beer, downed it in one shot, and wiped his mouth. “I guess we’re heading to Satan’s?”

Jekyll gave a curt nod and pulled her against his chest. “The house is unlocked. Settle in. Or come hang at the clubhouse. Whatever you wanna do.”

Her eyes widened. “I can go back to Lawry and come back tomorrow like we originally planned.”

The corner of his mouth curled. “No. You stay here.” He kissed her and circled around the table, heading toward the back entrance to his house. He lengthened his steps when he heard the engines start. He’d have to catch up to them, because he knew Cue wasn’t waiting for anyone.

This is gonna be a long fucking night.

“Get Eden.”

This wasn’t how Jekyll would’ve handled it. Unfortunately, there was no reasoning with Cue once they arrived at the Satan’s clubhouse. He was fueled by pure anger and aggression. The club members had been hanging in the yard when they’d entered it. Instead of asking where she was, Cue spouted off demands. That only triggered all their members to take a united front. Now, we’re in a standoff.

Griggs took a drag of his cigarette. “Brother, she ain’t here.”

Cue pointed at the president. “Bullshit! Get her.”

Griggs smirked. “I offered her up plenty of times, and you turned it down. Now, you want her?”

“Yeah, so fucking get her.”

Oak stepped in front of Cue, tapping his chest. “Settle the fuck down.”

Griggs smirked, glancing over at one of the women. “She here?”

“No,” they all said in unison.

They were lying.

Cue clenched his jaw and jerked his head across the yard. There was a small scruffy dog sniffing the grass. It was the same one Eden had been holding the last time they were there with Imogene. Cue’s lips spread into a sinister smile. He stalked through the yard, and picked up the dog.

“Then I’m taking her fucking dog,” he shouted. “And you let her know I’m not a dog person, so there’s no telling how long it’ll be before I snap his fucking neck!” His voice was so loud, it could be heard down the street.

It was done with purpose.

Jekyll maintained his composure. He knew exactly what Cue was doing. It was a smoke bomb forcing her out. And it did just that. The back door swung open with so much force it slammed against the wall. Eden darted past Griggs and the others, making a beeline for Cue. She stopped a foot away, out of breath and reaching for her dog.

“Please, don’t hurt him.” There was pure panic in her tone.

“You want him?” Cue asked.
