This is how I want to wake up every morning.
Jekyll’s hands gripped her thighs in a tight hold, leaving her immobile as he sucked her clit. She pressed her head into the pillow, squeezing the bars. Any time she moved an inch back, he yanked her forward, licking her pussy harder.
“Jek.” She moaned.
His hands caressed down her legs and grabbed her ankles, swinging them over his shoulders. This new angle made her gasp, lose her breath, and put her right over the edge. She rode his mouth until her body went limp.
She was barely aware of any movement until the mattress shifted, his arm wrapped around her and pulled her into the crook of his side, and she rested her cheek on his chest. His heart was even beating erratically. She should probably return the favor, but she wasn’t sure if she was even capable of moving.
She didn’t think anything could top yesterday with Jekyll, but this was definitely a close second. Even with all her fantasies about this man, and there were plenty, she’d never envisioned falling asleep with him and waking up beside him. It was just as well. Her creative mind was no match for this reality.
Imogene wasn’t certain how long they laid in silence, though she was pretty sure she’d dozed off. The phone alarm had her stirring.
She nestled into his chest. The last thing she wanted to do was get out of bed. Unfortunately, she didn’t have a choice. “I have to get up.”
His arm tightened around her, and he slid his hand over her ass.
“No, you don’t.” His deep grumble had her snuggling closer to him.
I’m my worst enemy.
“I do. I have to check in with the center and confirm my appointments.”
His hand stilled, and the vibe in the room shifted. Without him even saying a word, she could feel the tension.
“Who?” he snapped.
“Um, I have Shelby and Elaine here” —She paused— “And one back in Lawry.”
“No.”
She popped up her head and was met with a sharp glare.
“No?”
Jekyll dragged his hand down his face, dropping his hand to his chest. “Yeah. I said no. You ain’t meeting with him again.”
“I have to. It’s my job.”
“Then quit.”
What? She chuckled, scanning his face for some semblance of humor. She found none. Jekyll was not only serious but extremely irritated with her laughing.
Imogene wiggled her way to a seated position, clutching the sheet against her chest. She swiped the strands of hair from her eyes and cocked her head.
“You’re serious?”
“Dead fucking serious. You’re not meeting with him.”
Her mouth fell open. She was used to taking orders. From my boss. But never from a partner.
“Jekyll…” She reached for his arm and flinched when he ripped off the covers and got out of bed. He grabbed his jeans from the floor, and stormed out of the room.
What just happened? Imogene quickly got dressed and went in search of him. He wasn’t hard to find. Jekyll was standing in front of the coffee maker with his arms braced on the counter.
“Can we talk about this?”
The muscles on his back strained and veins on his biceps were visible. She inched her way into the kitchen, rounding the breakfast bar. He hadn’t said a word.
