But this?
This means I have to actually participate.
“I don’t…” I glance away, then force myself to look back at him. “Wyatt, I literally just told you I don’t know how.”
“I know.”
There isn’t a hint of judgment in his face. His eyes are warm and completely serious, and the knot in my stomach loosens a little.
I trust him.
For all the things I don’t know tonight, I know that much.
He takes my hand and presses a kiss to my knuckles.
“Believe me, I’d love to be involved.” His mouth curves slightly. “Very involved.”
I laugh despite myself.
“But you just told me you don’t really know what you like yet,” he continues. “So maybe that’s where we start. No pressure, no worrying about whether you’re doing something right for me. Just you figuring out what feels good.”
“With you sitting here?”
“Only if you want me here.”
I look at him.
The thought of doing anything like that in front of him makes another wave of heat climb straight into my face.
Apparently, he can read that reaction perfectly because his grin appears.
“I can talk you through it,” he says. “Tell you what to try, and you tell me what works and what doesn’t.”
“That sounds absolutely mortifying.”
He laughs. “I was going for sexy.”
“It is not sexy from this side of the conversation.”
“Oh, trust me, princess.” His gaze drops briefly before coming back to mine, and there’s finally a little more of the Wyatt I recognize in his smile. “From my side, it’s going to be hot as hell.”
My face gets even hotter.
“I wouldn’t even know where to start,” I admit.
“That’s okay.”
“What if nothing happens?”
“Then nothing happens.” He shrugs. “We’re not trying to win a prize, Peachy.”
I let out a nervous laugh. “You really wouldn’t mind? You must’ve had about a million orgasms.”
“A million?” His eyebrows shoot up. “Fuck, I wish.”
I laugh.
“And anyway,” he continues, giving my hand a squeeze, “I get to spend the evening with you. I’m doing pretty fucking well whether you get there tonight or not.”
