CHAPTER 7

Grayson

This was a horrible fucking idea.

Adjusting my hips, I try to ease the pressure against my rapidly filling cock.

The audiobook Kylie chose is fantastic, but the spicy scenes are abundant, and we’re on like the fourth one now. My poor balls are blue, and there’s not a damn thing I can do about it until we stop for the night.

Kylie’s been squirming in her seat as much as I have, which hasn’t helped in the slightest. Knowing she’s just as turned on is only making my cock harder. I want to ease the ache between her thighs so bad I’m practically salivating over the idea.

Luckily, it’s dark out, so she can’t see how much this book is affecting me. We’ve been driving for over ten hours now. We’re almost halfway to Pine Creek Falls and would be closer, but Kylie’s had to stop more often to pee.

I haven’t minded because it gives me a chance to stretch my legs and ease the ache in my hips.

“We should get a hotel soon.” Kylie’s statement has my eyebrows flying up.

“We should?” The words are like gravel in my throat.

“I can’t imagine how exhausted you are after your late-night flight and then driving all day.”

“Oh, right. Uh, yeah, that’s fine. Do you want to try to find one?”

You’re a fucking idiot, Grayson Reed. She wasn’t suggesting a hotel room so you could help her get off. But god, do I wish that were true.

“Looks like there’s one about an hour away,” she says as the light from her phone makes her face glow.

“Damn. Didn’t realize we were that far away from anything.”

“Well, there were a couple of motels closer, but those skeeve me out, so I’m going to make you drive a little while longer.”

I bark out a laugh. “Fair enough.”

True to the GPS, we make it to the hotel in about an hour. Kylie’s already booked it, so I drop her off to check in while I park in the lot. I grab my backpack and her toiletry bag before heading inside. Kylie put some clothes in my bag before we left so she wouldn’t have to dig into the big suitcase when we stopped.

One more day of driving should get us home. I’m ready to be there. I’m missing London even more than usual. It’s not like I’d have seen her today regardless, but being so far away from her is amplifying those feelings. My parents are going to pick her up tomorrow. Luddy couldn’t have been more excited about spending time with her gramma and gramps.

Kylie’s waiting for me by the elevators when I walk into the lobby. I’m a little shocked to see her smile reach her eyes. She’s always beautiful, but the way her brown eyes sparkle at me makes my chest ache. I wouldn’t blame her if she was overwhelmed with anger or sadness, but I’ve got to say it’s nice to know she’s not too upset about leaving Seattle and Douche Face.

“All set?” I ask.

She nods, turning to push the up button for the elevator. It dings open a few seconds later, and we walk in together. My exhaustion is starting to catch up to me. I hadn’t realized how tired I was until now.

“Shit. I just realized we should’ve gotten something to eat first.” I groan.

“Oh, I already ordered some food for delivery. I hope that was okay. I did it while I was waiting for you to come inside.”

“Thanks, Ladybug.”

She shrugs. “It’s nothing. I hope it’s okay that I got you a chicken salad.”

I try to hide my grimace, but she catches it.

She bursts out laughing, letting me in on the joke. “I’m teasing. I got us cheeseburgers. The receptionist suggested a local restaurant that serves food late. Hopefully it’s as good as he said.”

I reach out to tickle her ribs. “That was mean.”

She squeals but continues to laugh, not in the least bit remorseful. We get settled into the room. I try my hardest not to stare at the king bed looming in the middle of the room. There’s plenty of space for us to have separate sides, but sharing a bed with the secret love of my life for the second night in a row might be my undoing.
