Lorcan smiles without warmth. “Well, the Tallons aren’t the smartest.”

I cock a brow at him, my patience thinning.

The name pulls at a place inside me that I’ve tried to bury since I kissed Sera. I was toying with the girl. Having fun watching her get all hot and bothered.

Until my lips touched hers and she bit me.

That was a big fucking mistake. And one I’ve spent the last week trying to forget.

I keep my attention on the yard while the memory of her warm, wet mouth tries to drag itself through my dick.

“They’re smarter than you think,” I tell him.

Lorcan laughs and steps closer, lowering his voice because he knows better than to mention family business outside of our circle. “Keira needs to be dragged home.”

“She’s got a crush on the wrong man. It’ll end in tears.”

He drops his cigarette and stamps it out. “The Tallon girl looked good enough to eat at your engagement party.”

I look past him, acting unbothered.

“I can’t believe Sera walked straight into our house.” His mouth curves around her name, turning it into something dirty. “That was either really fucking stupid, or she has brass balls.”

It takes every last shred of self-control not to throw my fist into his face. It’s not his fault Sera fucking Tallon is under my skin.

Lorcan grins to himself. “That black dress. Jesus. She knew exactly what she was doing walking into our house looking like that.”

I take a breath before I give him my attention.

“She walked in with legs up to her throat and a mouth on her that hasn’t learned when to close.”

Lorcan checks the time on his phone, then slots it into his pocket.

“I’d give her one thing,” he says. “For a Tallon, she knows how to make a man look twice.”

“Enough.”

He laughs under his breath. “What? You’re telling me you didn’t notice her?”

I’ll never admit that I hate myself for lying in bed at night, my cock hard, needing a release but refusing the urge because I won’t let myself come while thinking about Sera Tallon.

“I’m telling you not to make yourself sound hungry over a Tallon.”

His smile drops.

“She’s fit, Fionn. I didn’t propose marriage.”

“No. You opened your mouth and made yourself sound easy to distract.”

His jaw tightens.

Good. Pride always lands quicker than sense.

“She walked into our house,” I say. “Let that be the problem. Not how hard your dick got while she did it.”

Lorcan looks away first, dragging his tongue along his teeth.

The yard noise continues around us, tires rolling through puddles, metal doors clanging, and men calling out to one another across the bays.
