Saint turns the page without looking up. “Stop whining and get the dock manager to sort it.”

Dane smiles at the ceiling.

I push away from the filing cabinet and move to the desk. “The delay’s going to have a knock-on effect.”

Rafe glances at me. “No shit.”

My brows snap together. “Don’t get pissy with me, ya gobshite.”

“It’s been a long fucking day, Sera.”

“Tell me about it.”

He looks back at the sheet as the floor kicks beneath us. A blast wrenches the office door and throws it against the wall.

I throw an arm over my face and drop behind the desk as glass rains across the wood and catches in my hair. The deafening boom collapses into a high whine inside my skull, stealing every shout and scrape around me. Then the lights die.

Blackness swallows the office. I grip the edge of the desk and search through the ringing for my brothers’ voices.

The emergency lights flicker on.

Rafe rises beside me with his gun already drawn. Saint moves to the wall beside the open doorway and checks the corridor without exposing himself while Dane brushes glass off his shoulder.

Thank fuck, they’re all upright. My lungs release the breath trapped inside them.

“You okay, Sera?” Rafe’s gaze snares mine.

I grab my gun from the waistband of my jeans and nod. “Aye.”

Thick black smoke rolls across the loading area, swallowing the floodlights along the eastern fence.

A second explosion flashes. The force hits the warehouse walls, sending dust raining from the ceiling.

“Fuck… The bastards are attacking us.” Dane covers his head with one hand while he holds his gun with the other.

I stay still in the following hush before gunfire explodes from somewhere outside.

“Lock the main gate,” Saint orders into his phone. “Nobody leaves until I know who’s doing this.”

Rafe catches my arm before I can pass him. “Stay behind me.”

I wrench free. “Wise up.”

Another burst of gunfire cracks, followed by the scream of tires and the hard metallic impact of something hitting steel.

“Rafe. Sera,” Saint says. “East warehouses.”

Rafe nods, and so do I.

“Take Murphy, Eamon, and Cal with ya,” he continues. “Secure the loading offices, then work back toward the main exit. Shoot anyone who’s a threat.”

Dane checks his magazine. “And us?”

“You’re with me. We take the west side and the gatehouse.”

Saint points at us. “We’ve got too much to lose if this place is destroyed. If anyone gets separated, head straight for the gates.”

His gaze sweeps across all of us before settling on Rafe. “Understood?”
