The hunger on his face almost drives me to the edge, but I try to hold out. I squeeze my eyes and try to think of anything else except for the man who is driving into me. It’s an impossible task and ridiculous to even think I could block him out.
“You’re mine,” Dax growls into my ear. “Do you hear me?”
My hands are moving around above my head, desperately trying to find something to hold onto, something to ground me.
Something to remind me of all the reasons why we shouldn’t be doing this.
He thrusts again, so hard. I cry out as feelings and emotions overwhelm me. I feel a tear streak down my face as he thrusts into me again and again.
“Enough, Dax, enough. I need you,” I beg as my climax starts to build.
Then, one last time, he thrusts into me, and I cry out as the climax hits me harder than anything I’ve ever experienced.
But he doesn’t come. He’s still hard inside me, waiting and watching. He’s now pushing me toward a second climax. Then he pulls out of me, and I feel the instant emptiness for only a second.
His lips are on mine once more before his cock is back at my slick, throbbing entrance. I squeeze my thighs around him as he rams into me again. I tighten my muscles around him, and he groans against my mouth.
“It’s never going to be enough,” Dax says.
He leans back to look at me, and with two more quick thrusts, I feel him go rigid. His voice is hoarse as he yells out my name and pours into me.
Bursts of pleasure light up my insides as I clamp down on him. My world comes apart in that single moment. Silent tears are falling freely down my face, and I’m so overwhelmed by what’s happened that I don’t know what to think or what to feel. Emotions I never wanted to feel are pounding in my chest.
I fucked up.
I fucked up so bad.
I fell in love with him, and he’s right. It’s never going to be enough.
Chapter 20
Dax
I watch in disbelief as Jess gets out of bed and starts looking for her clothes. The moment I released her from the handcuffs, it’s like she lost her mind. Some sort of panic set in, and she decided she had to leave. Right then.
“Jess, what the hell is wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“No, you’re not going to do that bullshit girl thing where you say nothing is wrong when something is obviously very wrong. Just tell me so that we can talk about it.”
She hurriedly puts on her shirt and refuses to make eye contact.
With a sigh, I get out of bed and grab my pants. I pull them on as fast as I can so that I can keep up with the madwoman, who is apparently intent on escaping as fast as her feet can take her.
“Tonight was a mistake. I don’t know what the hell I was thinking. I can’t do this with you, Dax.”
“What the actual fuck, Jess? I just had the most amazing night of my fucking life, and you’re running out of here like I tried to murder you. I’m so damn confused. Was it the handcuffs? Was that too much?” I’m fighting to keep my voice even. I don’t want to yell, but I’m so damn frustrated, and she won’t tell me what’s wrong.
She pulls her shorts up, fastens the buttons, and looks around for her shoes. “No, it wasn’t the handcuffs. Those were fun,” she mumbles.
I take hold of her shoulders. “Then what?” I ask gently, rubbing her shoulders.
That seems to calm her. She takes a deep breath. “I don’t know. I just need to go away and think. This was too much.”
“Babe. I know this was intense. It was for me, too. I think you’re just scared, and I’ll admit, I’m a little scared, too. Neither of us expected to feel this way.”
“What are you—?”
