It’s the most fucking beautiful thing I’ve seen in my life.
I don’t try to keep her quiet. Why should I? Let all these assholes hear her. Let them hear how perfect my Mate sounds when she comes apart for me.
Her hips are starting to slow, but I don’t let up. The angle is starting to make my fingers cramp, but I’m determined to wring every last ounce of pleasure I possibly can.
When she shudders, I press harder, keeping a firm pressure against her clit, just barely moving my fingers. After a few seconds, a strangled sound gets stuck in her throat, and her eyes snap to mine.
I smirk, realizing at the same time as she does what’s happening.
Fuck. Yes.
“Give me another one, Omega,” I demand.
“Oh, gods—” Her hands land on my biceps. Her fingers dig into my muscle and squeeze, making me grunt. “What’s happening? How—?”
More slick drips through the fabric of her leggings and onto my jeans. It’s so fucking hot it makes my head spin.
“Come on, Little Mate. Give me one more,” I whisper against the shell of her ear. “I need to feel you fall apart one more time, Idril.”
That’s all it takes. She explodes a second time, shuddering in my arms as I work her through another orgasm. She gasps, collapsing against me, breaths coming in ragged pants into my chest. I pull my hand back, but not before twisting so I can gather as much slick as possible.
Idril follows my movements with lazy curiosity as I bring my soaked fingers to my mouth.
The moment her taste hits my tongue, my eyes roll back in my head. Fates, she tastes like actual honey and vanilla. Sugary sweet with just the right hint of musk.
I’ve always been told that Omega slick tastes like their perfume, but this isn’t simply similar. This is spot-fucking-on, and it takes everything in me not to throw her back and shove my face between her thighs.
Idril groans, falling forward and burrowing into my chest, huffing in embarrassment. The sound makes me smile. PDA is normal for my Species, but the vamps are far more reserved. And humans—they’re even worse. Caelan and I need to make sure we’re giving her the proper reassurance and aftercare.
I hold her, relishing the way I can feel her heartbeat slowing against my chest.
“Thank you,” I whisper against her temple.
“For what?”
“For being mine.”
“Yours,” she agrees, then tilts her head and adds, “Well, yours and Caelan’s.”
I laugh. “Yes, mine and Caelan’s.”
I hesitate, debating whether or not this is the right time to bring it up. It seems stupid to dance around the subject, though. It’s not like the situation will change if we refuse to talk about it.
Schooling my features, I clear my throat before saying, “Not just ours, though. Vae and Daxen’s, too.”
Idril tenses, stiffening in my arms. I almost apologize for bringing it up, but force myself to stay silent, knowing it won’t help her if I shield her from the truth. Vae and Dax aren’t going anywhere. Sure, we’re keeping it from them right now, but that can’t last forever.
Finally, she deflates, melting back into me. “Vae and Dax are mine… but I’m not theirs. Not yet. Maybe not ever.”
In this moment, I feel like I’m seeing part of the real Idril for the first time. My Little Mate, who’s spent her whole life surrounded by Alphas who have tried to cut her down to nothing. Who’s never felt safe enough to stand up for herself. To demand to be treated the way she deserves.
And Fates help me, I’ll do anything I can to stoke that fire inside of her. I know—down to the depths of my soul—that there is so much more to her, behind the walls she’s been forced to hide behind.
And I’m the lucky bastard who gets to stand by her side as she blooms into the woman she truly is.
The wind picks up, blowing soft strands of Idril’s silver hair around me. It’s the perfect moment. One that shatters when I notice a thick shadow of mist curling around my feet.
What the fuck is that?
