Three unfamiliar faces appear in the doorway. Havoc stands and walks over, offering his hand to the man wearing the president’s patch first, before he nods to the others. “Gotta admit, I wasn’t expecting the president himself.”

“What can I say? Life’s been a little on the quiet side for us lately,” Smoke says, looking us over.

“Wish I could say the same.” Havoc sighs, indicating for them to join us. “Smoke, Mime, and Stitch. This is Dice, Hoops, Powers, and Ambros.”

“Good to meetcha. I saw you fight a few years back. You were fucking brutal,” Smoke tells Ambros.

“I don’t half-ass anything,” Ambros admits, making me laugh.

Smoke cocks his head at me. “You, I’ve never met, but I’ve seen your face. I’m sure of it.”

“It’s bomb guy,” Stich says, eyeing me.

“Bomb guy?” Dice rolls his eyes. “Way to make the man sound like a terrorist.”

Mime grins.

“We saw you on the news after shit went down at the high school. They were hailing you both as a hero and a hindrance, depending on who the media were interviewing.” Smoke chuckles

“Yeah, the cops are not our favorite people, and the feeling is mutual.”

“I hear that,” Smoke mutters.

“You guys want a drink?”

“Beer for me,” Stitch says. Mime nods, prompting Stitch to speak up again. “Make that two.”

“Water for me,” Smoke says. I give him a look, but he just shrugs. “I’m eight years sober.”

“Nice. Can’t imagine how hard it is to be a teetotaler in an MC.”

He cracks a smile. “If it’s easy, it ain’t worth having,” he states before his eyes drift over my shoulder. “Unless it’s women, of course.”

I turn to see a couple of the club girls giggling as they look over.

Havoc laughs. “Help yourselves, boys. Mi casa es su casa. I’ll have a prospect bring your drinks over.”

Smoke rubs his hands together. “Don’t mind if I do.”

I get up when I see Lil and Legs walk in from the back. Lil has Hero in her arms, while Legs is carrying a couple of boxes. I walk over and take the boxes from her with a scowl. “Why didn’t you guys shout for me?” That’s when it registers how light the boxes are.

“Pretty sure I can handle a few boxes of baby clothes, Powers, but thanks,” Legs chuckles, shaking her head. “You okay with Hero while I run these over to the storage shed?” she asks Lil.

“Absolutely. He smells so good, I’m not sure I’ll ever want to give him back.”

“You wouldn’t be saying that if you smelled him at five am this morning,” she calls over her shoulder as she walks away.

I move closer and kiss Lil’s temple, careful not to wake the kid who looks like he’s found his happy place, sprawled across my woman’s chest. “That’s my happy place too, little man,” I mutter, making Lil roll her eyes.

Her eyes move to the door when Blade walks in with another two unfamiliar men, wearing Carnage cuts. Spotting us, he walks over, his eyes on Lil and Hero as the men follow him.

“Thank god he looks like his mama,” Blade says.

Lil grins. “I’m telling Midas you said that.” She looks at the Carnage guys and smiles gently. There is familiarity between them that I don’t like, so I step closer and slide my hand around her hip.

“Linc, Jeeves, it’s good to see you both,” Lil says quietly.

“Lil, looking beautiful as always.” Jeeves winks at her, making me growl. He looks at me with a shit-eating grin.
