The sun, the sea, the dolphins—everything ceases to matter.
My hand lifts on instinct, sliding into his hair, gripping tightly as my hips start to move against him without permission, every small shift pressing me harder into him, into the unmistakable hardness of his body.
He pulls the thin triangle of my top aside, exposing me completely, his fingers finding my nipple, rolling it with a pressure that makes my back arch.
“No one can see us, kitten,” he murmurs, his voice rough now, edged with need. “They’re too busy chasing the dolphins.”
I’m already so close it’s almost humiliating—how fast he gets me there, how easily he strips everything else away. Barely minutes, and I’m on the edge, consumed.
“Why are you so scared?” he whispers, his tongue tracing a slow path from my shoulder up to my ear, leaving a trail of heat in its wake. “Hiding from someone?”
And just like that, reality comes crashing in.
The change is brutal, immediate, like being dragged out of a dream and thrown into cold water. My body locks, my breath catching as awareness slams into me, precise and suffocating.
Someone.
Someone who shouldn’t see this.
His girlfriend.
The one he’s betraying.
And me—the one letting it happen.
“What the hell are you doing, Ethan?” I whisper, forcing the words out as I push his hand off my breast, covering myself quickly before grabbing his wrist and removing his hand from between my legs.
He lets me go without resistance.
Amused, he leans back, giving me enough space to turn and face him, and of course, there’s no trace of guilt on his face—only that infuriating smirk, his eyes glinting with something dark and knowing.
“Maybe it’s not a problem for you to cheat, Ethan,” I say, my voice rising enough to betray the tension I’m trying to control, “but I will never be the other woman.”
All the while, he brings his fingers to his mouth, licking them clean after what he just did, letting out a dark groan as if nothing about this situation even remotely bothers him.
I force myself to shut down any reaction, to bury every instinct that wants to surface, every shiver that threatens to betray me.
“I spent so long thinking you’d cheated on Irina with me… I don’t want to actually be the woman you’re cheating on your girlfriend with.”
With that, I push him lightly and turn away, forcing my body to move, to put distance between us, swimming toward where the others disappeared minutes ago.
By the time I reach the front of the yacht, they appear almost immediately.
“Did you really touch him?” Sierra asks, her voice bright with curiosity.
Chuckling, Nick leans over to kiss her forehead. “Yes, baby. But only for a moment.”
“Ugh. I wanted to touch him too,” she pouts, sounding like a child denied candy.
“Where did you guys stay?” Aiden asks, and when I lift my eyes, I find him looking directly at me.
Oh my God.
“I…”
“There are dolphins on the back side of the yacht too,” Ethan says suddenly, appearing right behind me. “It was easier to stay and watch those ones.”
Of course. Smooth. Smart. Unshakable.
