"Baylor, this is Isla," Ellie says.

"Oh! You’re Wolf’s Baylor." Isla smiles at me. "It’s so nice to finally meet you."

I look at Ellie.

She looks delighted.

"Apparently," I say, taking the chair Natalia cleared.

"We’ve heard a lot about you," Isla adds.

"From who?"

"Kaenan heard about the bet," she says. "Then I heard about the bet."

"And Hunter told me," Peyton says.

"Luka told me," Natalia adds.

I look around the table. "Does anybody in that locker room keep anything to themselves?"

"No," Penelope says, without hesitation.

Wonderful. Beau is a professional hockey player. I’d appreciate it if this particular story stayed in one locker room.

Ellie nudges a menu toward me. "What are you eating?"

"Wolf sent you, didn’t he?"

"No, but I agree with him if he told you to have breakfast."

"He did."

"Then let’s reward this rare moment when two people agree on what you should do."

I order a cappuccino and a breakfast sandwich before she starts selecting things for me.

Natalia turns toward me. "I meant to ask you about cake pops. A friend of mine is having a bridal shower, and I told her about the ones you made."

"What date?"

She checks her phone while I pull my notebook from my bag.

Ellie laughs. "Of course you brought that."

"I’m going supply shopping after this. I need to know what I’m buying."

Natalia gives me the date, then shows me a picture of the decorations her friend picked. I write down the colors and ask her to send my email along so I can get quantities before quoting anything.

Isla waits until I’ve finished. "Do you do children’s birthdays?"

"Yes."

"Excellent. My daughter changes her mind about the theme every other day."

"I recommend not asking again once you’ve paid the deposit."

She laughs. "That might be the only way we get through it."
