“That would be great. Could definitely use the help since I still don’t know the area all that well.”
“Enough said. I’m on it. We’re gonna get you two love birds into a new house and a vest on your back sooner than you think! Beth and I are on a mission now.” Charlie and Beth high-fived as headlights shone through the windows.
“Just in time. Thanks for coming, both of you.” Charlie hugged each of us before following us outside, where Eliot was getting out of the car to help us in.
“You got a real estate agent?” she asked him, and he froze for a moment before shaking his head.
“Not yet. Was gonna ask Bash who he used. Why? You know someone?” he replied quickly, and my heart warmed.
“Yep. I’ll get on it tomorrow.”
“Thanks, C,” he said as he pulled me close, pressing a kiss to my head.
“Hey, baby. You have a good time?” he asked, his voice soft.
“The best,” I replied honestly.
Together, we drove off into the dark of the night, our future brighter than ever.
Chapter 30
Scythe
Lilah always looked beautiful, but when she came, she looked exquisite. Her cheeks were flushed, those blue eyes wild and unfocused. Her long dark hair draped over her shoulder and down her chest, her pale skin shining in the early dawn light. My girl slumped on top of me, her body limp as she twitched around me. I gave her a moment—just a short one—before flipping us over.
“Again.” It was all the warning she got before I drove back in. Her slick walls felt like heaven. Lilah strained underneath me, her chest flushed and her hands fisted in the sheets.
“It’s too much. I can’t.” She breathed out, her head tossing on the pillow. Reaching out, I gripped her neck. Not too hard, just enough to get her attention so those blue eyes focused on me. Slowing my movements, I held her in place as I ground into her. Her hands were flat against her sides, her body relaxing under my grip.
“You like this?” I asked, tightening my hold on her, clocking the way her body shivered and her pussy clamped around me. She nodded, her tongue peeking out to wet her lips.
“More.”
Fucking perfect.
“Keep your hands to your side. Don’t move them unless I give you permission,” I told her, and she nodded—as much as she could, at least. I bent down to kiss her, enjoying the way she arched up to reach me, testing the grip I had on her. She bit me before pulling away, her head dropping back down to the pillow.
Teasing Lilah, I alternated between kisses and nips down her neck and chest. She inhaled sharply when I grazed her nipple, not quite giving it the attention she wanted.
“Ever thought about piercing these?” I asked.
“Her eyes widened. She shook her head slightly but didn’t seem put off by the idea. Instead, she arched, her body begging for me to resume what I was doing. With a wicked smile, I gave in.
Visions of Lilah with tattoos and piercings only I knew about, only I would see, triggered a possessive wave in me I didn’t realize I had. She was already a work of art, but selfishly, I wanted my mark on her. One of her hands flew up to the back of my head, and I pulled away, looking down at her. She whimpered, her hand dropping as her body twisted underneath mine.
“Keep still,” I told her, and she quickly obliged.
Pushing up onto my knees, I hooked my arms under her legs. At that angle, I felt every inch of her, each stroke until bottoming out inside of her. Dropping one of my hands from her hip, I gently stroked her clit, and she arched off the bed.
Using more pressure, I picked up the pace, watching as she unraveled around me. With a cry, her walls tightened, her arms coming up to grab me as I quickly followed her. It was Heaven and Hell at once. It felt amazing, but it was over too soon. I understood how people could get addicted to it.
We cuddled in bed after, tangled in each other talking about nothing and everything at once. It was odd, how intimacy played out. It wasn’t just in the vulnerable moments, but in the seemingly mundane.
“So I’ll go with Beth to the market, then you or Bull will help us bring everything inside? Lilah asked. She was cooking her special roast.
I never imagined a life this easy, this normal—or as close to normal as it got for someone like me. At least her family had been quiet for the moment. I didn’t trust it.
But it wasn’t them I was worried about; it was Kyle. Lilah’s family only sought her out to protect themselves, which meant that he was the real threat. With Keys’ help, I had more than enough to piece together a clear picture of everyone in Lilah’s old life.
