Prologue
Charlie
Hey, guys. It’s your girl, Charlie.
If you’re like me, that first book was hella long. And my memory is shit. So I’m here to recap the important parts.
The Reaper’s Guard motorcycle club was started by Reaper and my dad, Guard. Guard has retired as VP, and now my brother, Bash, is Vice President. Reaper’s only son, Crow, was butthurt that he wasn’t chosen for the role.
The club has a secret project known as Seph’s Trail—named after Reaper’s Old Lady. On Seph’s Trail, the brothers rescue women and kids and relocate them for their safety. It’s heavy but rewarding.
Then, Fiona met Bash. (You’re welcome!)
Fiona rescued me, and we became besties. Fee is amazing, so everyone who meets her wants more time.
The MC brothers love her.
My parents adore her.
And my brother? Totally gone for her. He fell first—touch her and die and all the things.
Bitches caused some drama, but Fee and Bash worked through it, becoming stronger.
Then, we found out someone was stealing from the club. Fee used that big brain of hers to trace the money, but that put a target on her back.
Crow was the thief. Realizing she was catching on to him, he tied her up and fled like the pussy he is.
It was a tough hit. The club still hasn’t recovered from the betrayal. Crow is still on the loose, and we have to rebuild to prevent any more damage.
But back to the fun stuff…
Bash and Fee have gotten their happily ever after, and a baby makes three. All that mushy stuff.
So. Bash and Fee are married and expecting. Reaper and Seph are heartbroken over Crow’s betrayal. As Crow is on the run, all brothers are on deck trying to catch him.
Now, I’m in law school, living my best Elle Woods fantasy.
Match is a full-time apprentice at the tattoo shop.
Bull has become an overbearing mother hen.
Atlas is…Well, the judge is still out on that one. You’ll have to stay tuned. But I’m keeping an eye on him. No one fucks with my family, and Fiona is the sister I always wanted and never knew I needed.
All in all, we’re doing alright. We are rebuilding and working together. Despite all the drama, love doesn’t wait for the right time. It’s about the right people…And this time, it’s Scythe’s turn.
Grab some popcorn and some tissues. It’s gonna be a wild ride.
Chapter 1
Lilah
Looking at my easel in the midafternoon light, I couldn’t figure out which color to use next. While I lost myself in the multitude of options, I was snapped back into consciousness by a thudding sound coming from my backyard. Having only lived there a few months, I didn’t know many people in the area. I had lucked out when I found that small house to rent within an hour’s drive to the university and my two jobs.
Putting my paintbrush down, I wiped my hands on my smock and headed for the back door. When I stepped outside, I was surprised to see a small woman bent over the overgrown weeds I had yet to attend to out back. The woman was older, humming as she pulled various plants out of the dirt, seemingly unbothered by the sun beating down on her grey-streaked hair.
“Uhm…Hi, there,” I said awkwardly as I came to a stop behind her.
“Hello, dear. The weeds have just overrun this place! We’ll get it back in top shape, don’t you worry,” she told me, as if we had been friends our entire lives.
