Incoming Call: Alexei

You’re drunk

Lay off the vodka and sleep it off

If you want to talk when you're sober let me know

I miss you too for the record

But you're the one who did this to us

(Three days later)

That’s what I thought

You were right I'm sorry

Happy?

Ecstatic.

turkeytalk (November 11, 2023): Everett is scoreless in the last five games. I don’t get it. Looking at the stats, his line has great zone time and both Novak and Baptiste are feeding him passes. But shot attempts are down and he’s shooting super wide of the net. But no reason to worry - Everett’s longest goal drought was back in 2018-2019 when he went 10 games without a goal. No need to hit the panic button yet.

↪ gobblegoals: he looks distracted. looks like he did at the start of last season when He Who Shall Not Be Named left. i’ve never seen such a dramatic swing and a miss as last night vs Detroit. bro fell over…

↪ turkeytalk: Sokolov has no power here.

↪ gobblegoals: he better not. we play Chicago in eight days. we do NOT need a repeat of that Storm/Turkeys series last season. lost all four games to them…

↪ turkeytalk: As a plus, it isn’t impacting the Turkeys TOO much (yet). They’re finding ways to win without Everett scoring. It’d probably just be easier if the big guy was helping.

“How’s it going, Baps?”

Henri was by the bench, kneeling on the ice to watch a defensive drill. He swiveled to watch Novak take a knee next to him. He tapped Henri with his stick, so Henri returned the gesture. It always amused him how much hockey players communicated with sticks.

“Bored,” Henri said. “I don’t like watching.”

Only half true. He didn’t mind watching—he, in fact, liked seeing his teammates go through drills, just to get an idea of their strengths and weaknesses—but he wasn’t in the mood today. He’d stupidly been checking his stats again, and though they were hardly dreadful, they weren’t stellar.

He needed to be stellar. Or at least wanted to be. There were a few moments this year when it’d felt attainable…
