“Ellis.”

He paused.

I tightened my arms around him, pulling him back to me.

He understood.

When he kissed me again, I was already reaching for the bottom of his shirt.

His hand closed gently around my wrist.

“Bedroom?”

I looked at him.

There was no assumption in his face. No expectation because I’d asked to stay that night or because I was sitting in his lap with my hands beneath his shirt.

I stood and held out my hand.

“Come on.”

His smile came slowly as he took it.

I barely made it a few steps before he pulled me back for another kiss. I laughed against his mouth, but by the time we reached his bedroom, the laughter had faded into something warmer.

He closed the door behind us, and I turned toward him before he had the chance to come to me.

His shirt hit the floor first.

Mine followed.

By the time the backs of my knees met the bed, his mouth was on mine again.

I pulled him down with me.

His hands moved over my body with none of the hesitation from our first time, and I arched into his touch when his mouth found my neck. I knew what those hands could do now, and apparently so did he, because it didn’t take him long to find the places that made my breathing change.

My fingers dug into his shoulders.

“Ellis.”

He lifted his head, eyes finding mine.

I didn’t make him ask.

“I want you.”

His eyes stayed on mine, but the look in them changed.

“Yeah?”

I nodded, but apparently that wasn’t enough for him.

“Tell me.”

“I just did.”

His mouth curved. “Tell me again.”
