I looked at the email again, and my smile grew.

“Thank you.”

The call ended.

I stood there with my phone in my hand for another second.

Then Naomi’s voice carried across the store.

“Did you call Ellis?”

I looked up.

She was grinning.

“Mind your business.”

Her grin widened.

I looked down at my phone one more time before putting it away, still smiling.

Ellis never told me what celebrating meant.

Apparently, I was about to find out.

His front door opened before I made it all the way up the porch.

“Miss Luna!”

Mila appeared in the doorway with Ellis right behind her.

“Back up,” he told her. “Let her get in the house.”

“I am.”

“You’re standing in the door.”

Mila moved just enough for me to step inside.

“Hi, sweet girl.”

“Daddy told me about the magazine.”

“Did he?”

She nodded. “He said your bookstore is gonna be in it.”
