I laughed under my breath.
“Daddy.”
I looked up.
Mila was watching me.
“What?”
“It’s your turn.”
“I know.”
“You’re texting Miss Luna.”
I looked at my phone.
Then at her.
“That doesn’t mean I forgot the game.”
“You did.”
“I did not.”
“You’ve been holding the same card.”
I put it down.
“Happy?”
She looked at it.
“You can’t play that.”
I looked down.
Wrong color.
Tasha laughed.
I pointed at her. “Not a word.”
Mila reached toward the pile. “Draw.”
“This whole house is against me.”
My phone buzzed again.
Luna: Tell Mila I found one of her glitter pens in my bag too.
I glanced toward her.
“Luna says you left one of your pens in her bag.”
Mila’s eyes widened.
“The purple one?”
