“Are they still trying to access your mind?” I ask, leaning over Wyatt’s shoulder.

Milo’s emerald eyes open in increments as if he’s expecting bright lights to assault his retinas. Whilst the sky is now pale where the sun is creeping over the horizon, it’s still dull in my garden, except for the few small lanterns hanging off various trees.

It takes him a few seconds to answer, the air electric with our anticipation. Wyatt’s shoulders visibly slump as Milo shakes his head slowly and brings his hands away from his head to sign. “My mind is clear right now.”

“Good. It’s going to stay that way.” Wyatt grabs Milo’s hands between his own and brings them to his lips. I see the fear in Milo’s eyes though, he doesn’t think that this is over. I agree, I don’t think it’s that easy. Even if Hades, Garrick, and the rest of the guards have taken out the Angels with mind powers, it doesn’t mean there aren’t more.

“Can you stand?” I say to Milo. “We should probably go inside. My wards are impenetrable out here but I'd still feel safer with walls around us.”

He nods and allows Wyatt to help him up.

“Plus, I’d kind of like to get clean,” I add, looking down at my blood splattered gear. Wyatt’s not much better, although his prison scrubs look covered in more dirt than blood.

“A shower sounds good, Mo Stór. Lead the way.”

Chapter 44

Wyatt

Tacita’s penthouse is incredible. I’d had money before, had made nearly six figures just for one hit on the more high-profile cases, but I hadn’t ever seen the need to purchase a luxury place. I’ve got a few one bed flats in various cities but as I’d moved around so much, I never bought somewhere I’d call a home.

This is fully decorated, there’s about a thousand plants everywhere, and stacks of books, cushions, and furnishings. I absorb all the little details as we make our way through the bifolding doors and into a lounge, each knick-knack or colour choice giving me a new piece of information about the woman I love.

She doesn’t really stop to give us a proper tour, but I glimpse a fully decked out kitchen, a separate library room with comfy sofas, and a long hallway with a few more doors coming off it before she leads us down a staircase to the master suite.

“Most of the bedrooms and the main bathroom are upstairs but my room and the best shower is down here. I renovated it a bit when I moved in,” she tells us as we step into the most luxurious room I’ve ever been in–and I’ve stayed in some of the flashiest hotels in the world.

Her bed dominates the space but barely takes up half the room, even though it’s way bigger than a king. The whole room is rich in navy, softened with pink, and accented with gold. One wall is floor to ceiling windows and the bright lights of the city and brightening sky are muted by what I’m assuming is treated glass.

We cross the room, padding on the ultra-soft carpet to another door. Tacita opens it to reveal her bathroom, and again there has been no expense spared. The shower has a full rain panel as well as the standard heads, the bath looks so big I’m sure all three of us could easily have a lot of fun in it. I’m trying to take everything in when the female in front of me starts stripping.

She gently places her armoured vest on a hook that seems perfectly designed for it before whipping the rest of her gear off and dumping it on the floor. “Ah, it's so good to be home.” She lets out a sigh that goes straight to my cock as she steps behind the glass and pushes a button on the panel on the black tiled wall. Water starts cascading down from the ceiling panel above. “Are you coming?” she asks, turning to look over her shoulder before she lets her wings free, blocking our view.

Milo and I are quick to jump into action, shredding our prison scrubs and joining our girl under the warm water raining down.

Tacita hands us products to wash with but my hands are not interested in cleaning my own body. Before long I’m stealing the sudsy shower pouf from her hands and gently washing whoever’s skin is closest. The touches go no further than us reacquainting ourselves with each other. It's a reassurance we all need after this night. I’ve never felt more out of control or more enraged than I did when I saw my lovers being targeted.

They. Are. Mine.

And I was very happy to send many of the fuckers trying to take them from me to a very fiery grave.

“Hey,” Tacita’s soft voice and wet body refocus my thoughts to the present. “You’re heating up. No shifting inside the house.” Her hand cups my face as she draws my eyes to her chocolate ones. I take a deep breath, letting her scent calm me. Milo steps around her wings as well to put his hands on my chest and my hip. As I’m against the tiles, I lean back and try to relax the dragon underneath my skin.

Tacita opens her wings slightly, making a cocoon for us, the steam from the hot water keeping us warm even though we’re to the side of the water flow.

“Safe,” Milo whispers as his eyes look between the two of us.

“Yes, we are safe here. You’ll both always be safe in this house. That I promise you,” Tacita says.

“You asking us to move in, Mo Stór?” I tilt my chin and give her my best puppy eyes, adding in a pleaful tilt to my lips as well.

“We still have several things to work out, and I totally get if you want your own rooms for now–at least until Hades summons us–but yes you’ll be staying here. Whether you want to or not. Elysium might be a city of mostly decent demons but you’re still essentially human. And humans aren’t allowed in the city.”

“I didn’t mean for now.” I push her, my heart thudding at thinking I might be getting all I ever wanted, even if I didn’t know I wanted them until we all got locked up together a few months ago.

“We can work that out once we’ve seen Hades.”

“He isn’t going to punish you, is he?” I ask, suddenly tense.
