“Is the house still standing?” Ghost asked.

“As far as I know, yes,” she said.

“Who owns it?” he asked.

“I do,” she said.

Ghost almost laughed. Of course she fucking did. “Where's the key?”

“In my old bedroom,” she admitted. Hammer looked at him, and Ghost already knew what his best friend was thinking. They needed that key. Angel shook her head. “No.”

Neither man had said anything. “No,” she repeated.

Ghost crossed his arms over his chest. “You don't even know what I'm about to say.”

“Yes, I do,” she said.

“Then save me the trouble,” he said, pointing at her to continue.

“We are not going to Raven's Hollow,” she insisted. Ghost smiled, and Angel pointed at him. “Don't.”

“Don't what?” he asked, feigning innocence.

“Don’t smile like that at me,” she said.

“How am I smiling at you, honey?” he asked.

“Like you've already decided on what comes next,” she said. Hammer chuckled, and Angel turned on him. “You're not helping.”

“Nope,” Hammer agreed. “I’m not.”

Ghost pushed away from the wall. “How far of a drive is it?” he asked.

“Doesn't matter because we’re not going there,” she insisted.

“How far, Angel?” he asked through gritted teeth.

“About four hours drive,” she said.

“Good,” Ghost breathed.

“Why is that good?” she asked.

“Because we can be there before dark,” he said.

“We're not going,” she said again.

“We are,” he insisted. Ghost stepped closer, but she held her ground. God, he liked that about her. Most people backed away from him, but Angel moved closer.

“You don't understand what Raven's Hollow is like,” she said.

“Then explain it to me,” he offered.

“It’s Nomad Knights territory,” she said.

“I figured that out already, honey,” Ghost drawled.

“They own half the town,” she said.
