“Technically one father and one biological complication,” she corrected. Bishop winced, and Ghost almost felt bad for him—almost.

“And now you want to walk into what could possibly be another trap,” he said.

“I want to finish this,” she insisted.

“So do I,” Ghost said.

“Then we're in agreement,” she said, smiling triumphantly at him.

“No, I'm going, and you're staying,” he said, pointing at her.

Angel stared at him. “Do you want me to unpack my bag?” That was a low blow, and she knew it. Ghost's mouth closed, and Jackhammer started laughing.

Monster whispered, “Damn.”

Angel crossed her arms. “Well?”

Ghost glared. “You fight dirty.”

“I grew up in an MC,” she reminded.

“Fine,” he growled. She smiled. “But you stay between me and Hammer,” Ghost ordered.

“Deal,” she said. “It’s my favorite place to be anyway.”

He rolled his eyes at her. “And if I tell you to get down?” Ghost asked.

“I get down,” she answered.

“If I tell you to run?” he questioned.

“I run,” she said.

“Toward safety,” he quickly added.

Now, it was her turn to roll her eyes. “Fine.”

Ghost stepped closer. “And if somebody points a gun at you?”

“I shoot them first,” she quickly answered.

He smiled. “That'll do.”

Storage unit thirty-seven sat at the far end of a nearly empty facility. Ghost noticed immediately that it was too quiet and too exposed. It was the perfect place for an ambush. Monster had brought six men, and Bishop came along. Angel sat between Ghost and Jackhammer in the SUV. She'd been quiet for the last ten minutes, and Ghost touched her knee.

“You good?” he asked.

“No,” she breathed.

“That’s a good thing,” he said.

She frowned. “Why does everyone keep saying that?”

“Because if you said yes after everything that happened, we'd need to have you evaluated.”

Angel laughed softly. Jackhammer looked out the window. “That's probably the first thing he's said today that makes sense.”

“Fuck you,” Ghost growled.
