My Husband Betrayed Me at the Altar for My Twin Sister

“Thank you all so much for being here,” I started, keeping my voice warm and grateful. “When Garrett and I started planning this wedding, we knew we wanted to be surrounded by the people who mattered most. The people who’ve supported us. Who’ve had our backs. Who’ve shown up for us time and time again.”
Nods and smiles from the crowd. My mother pressed a tissue to her eyes.
“Marriage is about trust,” I continued, finding Garrett’s eyes. He was scratching his neck now, probably hoping it looked casual. “It’s about choosing someone and knowing they’re choosing you back. Every day. No matter what.”
“That’s beautiful,” someone called out.
“It is beautiful,” I agreed. “And speaking of beautiful, my husband has prepared something special for tonight. A performance he wanted to share but was too shy to mention.”
Garrett’s face went white. “Sam, I don’t…”
“Don’t be modest, honey.” I patted his arm, feeling him flinch under the fabric. “Everyone’s going to love it.”
I pulled out my phone, walking to the DJ booth. “He’s been practicing for months. Haven’t you, sweetheart?”
“Sam.” Garrett’s voice was tight. Confused. “What are you doing?”
“Sharing your talent with everyone!” I handed my phone to the tech guy, already cued to the right video. “This is from earlier tonight. A very special rehearsal.”
The tech guy plugged in my phone. The screen behind the DJ booth lit up. And then…
“Fuck, Sophie.”
Garrett’s voice filled the ballroom, crystal clear through the sound system.
“God, Garrett. Right there. Don’t stop.”
Sophie’s voice. No. Our identical twin voice moaning my husband’s name while the video showed nothing but a black screen. I’d only recorded audio. I wasn’t completely cruel.
Just cruel enough.
The room exploded. Chairs scraped back, glasses dropped, someone even screamed. Maybe Garrett’s mother. Maybe mine. Hard to tell over the sound of Sophie’s recorded voice telling my husband how I could never fuck him like she could.
“Turn it off!” Garrett lunged for the phone. The tech guy, god bless him, stepped back. “Sam, turn it off!”
“But honey,” I said into the microphone, my voice echoing over the sex sounds. “Everyone should hear how talented you are. How you can make my sister scream your name while your wife dances at her own wedding.”
Sophie had gone gray, her hands clutched her belly as tears streamed down her face. Not pretty tears this time. Ugly, desperate tears.
“Your sister could never fuck me like this,” Garrett’s recorded voice continued, clear as day. “She’ll never be you. You’re a savage, Sophie. Taking my cock like a nympho. I’m already regretting marrying her.”
I looked at Joel, Sophie’s husband. He stood frozen by the bar, still holding his drink. His face was doing something complicated as he stared at his very pregnant wife.
The sound cut off. I’d stopped recording there, right before they’d started round two. The silence was deafening.
Then Sophie collapsed.
It was almost graceful, the way she crumpled. Knees buckling, hand to her forehead, the whole nine yards. Garrett caught her before she hit the ground because of course he did.
“Sophie!” My mother’s scream cut through the chaos. “Someone call 911! She’s pregnant!”
“She’s faking,” I said into the microphone, my voice conversational. “Just like she faked that Garrett’s dick is impressive. Trust me, I’ve seen it. Felt it. Nothing to write home about.”
“Sam!” Garrett’s voice cracked as he cradled my sister. “What the fuck is wrong with you?”
“Me?” I laughed out loud. “I’m not the one who fucked my spouse’s sibling. But hey, at least now I know why you saved her as ‘2’ in your phone. Because she’ll always be second choice, right? Second place? Second rate?”
“You don’t understand…”
