“Okay, I will hold you to that.”

“Please do, I have upgraded your plane ticket, and a driver is waiting to take you to the airport when you are ready to leave,” I say, and he puts his hand out to shake mine. We give a firm shake of understanding.

“Good luck with you two”

“Thanks”

“You won’t pull the twins out of my team, will you?”

“No, I’ve no intention to do that.”

“Good, guess will be seeing each other later.”

“Guess so,” I said goodbye and left. Relieve washes over me once I step outside and get in my car, I can do this nice guy thing. Jade had insisted that I visit Knox; she didn’t want him to just leave without anyone saying hello to him. She of course warned me to be nice.

Her exact words were, “Knox has been nothing but nice to me and my children, our breakup was amicable please don’t ruin it by being mean to him.” I smile, and I can report that I was nice to Knox.

It feels good to be nice after the week I’ve had of slaying monsters on her behalf.

Once I found out my father was involved in the attempted murder of Jade. I requested a meeting with my uncle. I laid out my request to strip my father of all his title and power. He was shocked to find out about some of my father’s power abuse. Some I didn’t know about either. Within twenty-four hours of Jade in hospital, I had disbursed my father’s entire staff.

Unfortunately, some of them had to suffer for my father’s atrocities. I can’t take the chance of him having a loyal employee who would attempt to plan another attack.

The King had suggested that my father be put under permanent house arrest. The notice of his house arrest was sent out. I made sure; my mom wasn’t home. Coincidentally, she was enroute to visit Taimani when the message was delivered.

Taimani was tasked with telling mom about what was happening to her husband. She screamed and called me.

“Please tell me, your father didn’t do all Taimani just told me.”

“I’m sorry, Mom, he did, I have no doubt he would have tried to take my children out if he’d known about them.”

“Children? What children?”

“Mom, Mariam, and I have twins they are almost five years old.”

“Oh my god! Your father would never harm children.”

“He tried to kill Mariam and you think he won’t see them as her children because he knows I’ll always choose her.”

“Who have I been lying in bed with,” she asks rhetorically in tears.

“You can stay in the house with him and be allowed to leave as you please, I need you to know this, Mom, if you stay with him. I can’t have you around my wife and children.”

“What! If I pick my husband, I’ll lose my grandchildren.”

“Right now, Mom I must protect my children. He feels hatred towards them and my wife and when a person like Dad is cornered, they can be dangerous, I can’t in good conscience let you near my children, if you choose Dad. Maybe in a few years but not right now”

“I’ll let you know of my decision; this is too much for me.”

“I’m going to stay with Taimani for a while, then London.”

“I can’t speak to him now.”

“When can I see the twins.”
