“I handled it.”

I stiffen and look at Dorian and Lorenzo. We exchange a look and nod once, sealing the silent agreement.

"How are they doing?" he asks.

Lorenzo has been keeping him updated on everything while he dealt with the aftermath of the warehouse.

"They'll be okay," I assure. More for myself than him. "Just waiting for her to wake up."

Roberts grabs my shoulder. “You are both on leave until further notice.”

I furrow my brows in question.

“Take a goddamn vacation,” he orders gruffly.

“Yes, Sir.” I mock salute him.

He playfully shoves me away and walks back out of the waiting room.

My eyes grow heavy when I sink back down into one of the couches. Fragments of the past few hours flash through my mind as I start to drift off.

Baby girl…

Pink dresses…

Thirteen weeks…

I struggle to do the math in my head before exhaustion finally claims me.

“We need to go back home,” Olivia blurts out while tossing items from her overnight bag.

I dodge a tube of toothpaste that flies towards my head. She continues to rifle through the contents while I sit on the king size bed of the suite I booked.

“And why is that?”

“I forgot my meds! I can’t believe I didn’t pack them,” she groans.

I grasp her wrist and pull her between my open legs. “Hey, I don’t think missing one night is going to cause your nightmares to come back.”

She looks down at me with her hands resting on my shoulders and I place mine on her hips.

“I forgot ALL of my meds,” she reinforces.

“Oh!” My eyes widen.

“Yeah. Oh.”

We’re currently in the Poconos. Two hours from home.

“It’s fine. I’ll just go get condoms.” I squeeze her hips and stand. “Or…” I pause and kiss a path up her neck. “I could just paint you like a blank canvas.”

Her sigh morphs into a moan when I suck the spot just below her ear. “Tempting.”

“Do you want to be my Mona Lisa?” I rasp in her ear.

She nods and I slap her ass. Turning, I dig through her bag until I find her bikini and toss it at her.

“Get changed then.” I smirk.
