“Jesus, Liv. Fuuuuck.” He slams into me a few more times before he stills and moans.

His arm bands around me under my breasts and then one of my arms falls to my side. He unties the other one and I feel the blood rushing towards my fingers. It stings, but I’m too lost in the aftershocks of my orgasm to care. Holding my sagging body against his chest like a rag doll, his cock still twitches inside of me.

A final moan slips free when he slides the plug out of my ass and drops it onto the towel. He scoops me into his arms and jumps down from the bed. Carrying me into the bathroom, his pulse pounds in my ear, matching my own. He sets me down on the bench in the oversized shower and turns on one of the shower heads.

The water splashes up onto my shins and steam envelops us inside the glass enclosure. Sage squats down in front of me and tilts my chin up with his knuckle.

“Are you okay?” Concern is written all over his face.

“Yeah.” My eyes snap to his. “I think maybe we need to do that again. That last part. Ya know, to really make sure that memory is erased for good.”

His chuckle bounces off the walls before he grabs the back of my head and leans in to capture my lips with his. When he pulls back, his eyes are alight with mischief.

“I guess you better behave then."

Chapter Twenty-One

Kyle

Last weekend didn’t go as planned. I had every intention of following Olivia to New Jersey. Aerial footage allowed me to map out the area around his parents’ house. I had found a perfect spot where I could have parked the SUV that I rented. Far enough away to be hidden, but not too far away that it would have been difficult to drag her to.

Then Saturday morning came and I realized my tracking app was disabled. I wouldn’t have needed to track her though since I had the address. But it pissed me off.

You’d have to be extremely skilled at hacking to find that. You would also need the appropriate software to find it. I’m sure I have one of her coworkers to thank for that. I didn’t even have my guy attempt to install a new one, or try and turn off the security system because I know without a doubt that that’s been safeguarded as well. So, now I have no tracker and no way into the house. The only modicum of certainty I had left was her routine. But she hasn’t set foot in the park for weeks.

The grey clouds overhead snuff the light from the sky. Just like the life that was strangled out of the woman found in the park last weekend. Her body was perfectly positioned like the rest of them. Their pale faces were devoid of color. Washed away like their sins.

I take a sip of my coffee while waiting for the woman who isn’t going to make an appearance today. The woman I’m tired of being patient for. The one who unknowingly has buried herself into my black, uncaring heart.

Leaning back on the bench, I smirk thinking about the fact that last year I wanted her dead. I loathed her more than this wretched city. More than my absent mother. More than the miserable career I chose, hoping to rectify my pathetic existence.

Revenge was my motivation after she put me behind bars. It consumed every nook and cranny of my soul until it bled out into reality. Hundreds of options ran rampant in my mind, plotting her demise. All the ways I would torture her, listening to her screams. Wrapping my hands around her throat as I robbed the air from her lungs. Reveling in the river of blood that would flow after I stabbed her like she did me. I wanted nothing more than to watch the light leave her eyes. Blink out of existence.

But then I fucked her.

And I remembered.

It was supposed to be the last thing she experienced before I killed her. And I thought I was just getting her out of my system one last time. A goodbye hate fuck. But when I slid my dick into her, I remembered that she was mine.

Mine to hate. Mine to control. Mine to fuck.

Each time I thrusted into her, it disintegrated another thought of killing her. One by one, they vanished until there weren’t any left. So, I kept fucking her in that basement, dragging out my plan. I didn’t regret murdering her father because I still wanted her inheritance. We could have taken it and disappeared. Her brother would have been a loose end that I would have had to take care of though. And I don’t think she would have forgiven me for that either.

She will learn to love me again.

She won’t have a choice.

The bench shifts underneath me, signaling someone's arrival. My head slowly turns to find Nika sitting next to me. She doesn’t make eye contact and stares straight ahead into the park full of pedestrians. Her dark hair curls around her face and brushes against her bare shoulders. The cross necklace dangling between her breasts catches my eye. The corner of my lip twitches at the irony.

“Are you ever going to tell me who it is you come here to watch?”

“And why would I do that?”

Her eyes finally meet mine, and the uncanny resemblance stills my heart for a beat.

“I know she looks like me. I just haven’t figured out who she is yet.”

I hum and take a sip of my coffee before tossing it into the trash can next to me. “And you won’t.”
