“I know.” I hesitated before adding, “But I wouldn’t hate it if it was.”
His gaze sharpened.
The flogging scene ended behind us, followed by soft applause. The room shifted.
Max’s attention didn’t.
“You came back.”
I squared my shoulders and straightened my spine. “Yes.”
“Why?”
I met his gaze and held it. “Because I wanted to.”
“Wanted to what?”
“Do it again,” I said. “With you.”
His jaw tightened. “That was a single scene. Exactly what you asked for.”
“I know.”
“And?”
I smiled, unable to rein in the impulse. “And I’d like another.”
Silence stretched between us.
“Be specific.”
My pulse kicked. “I’d like more contact this time. If that works for you.”
“Contact.” His lips twitched. “Why so coy, Quinn? You strike me as someone who doesn’t shy away from speaking his mind.”
I looked him in the eye. “Fine. I told you the last time to give me something to be good at. Well, I’m great at taking a dick—wherever you feel like putting it.” I smiled again. “I’d love the chance to show you.”
He studied me long enough that I felt it settle under my skin.
“Why now?”
Because I’ve been thinking about you all week.
Because your voice won’t get out of my head.
Because kneeling isn’t the only thing I want anymore.
I swallowed.
“Because I’m ready.”
Something shifted in his expression. Not surprise, but recognition.
He extended a hand. “Up.”
I stood immediately. He stepped close enough that the heat between us felt deliberate. His hand skated down my spine to my arse cheeks, and when his fingertips connected with the smooth silicone wedged between them, he chuckled.
I smiled. “I was never a Boy Scout, but I believe in being prepared.”
