When The Fair Goes Dark

“I’m staying.”

She reaches over and grabs a ticket from each roll I’m assuming was under the counter.

“Excellent choice.”

She slides over the two tickets.

One was the same yellow one that I got last year with the Summers End Fair on it.

The other with Summers End Circus.

It was burnt orange. The edges were darkened. The font looked like it was being dragged down. It was creepy looking, but it only furthered my fascination.

“When the clock hits 7:45, look for a worker and they should have the stamp on them that you need to have to stay.”

I nod my head as she further explains.

“Also, let me see your ID.”

Sliding my hand in my pants, I slide it over to her on the counter.

“Perfect.”

She gives it back before grabbing a piece of paper out.

“This is a legal document you need to read over and sign at the bottom when you understand it all.”

“You ready Rave?” Willow says as she sidles up next to me.

Glancing down at the paper, I read the beginning where it explains that its a haunted carnival with dark themes.

I’ve been to plenty of haunted attractions, but I understand the need for someone to want this since it can be a lot if this is someones first time at one of these.

The flashing lights, the jump scares, it can be a lot.

With a sigh, I grab the pen and sign my name on it before I give it back.

She looks down at it, before looking back up at me.

“Enjoy yourself.”

I grin at her as I get tugged away with Willow.

My head trails along the crowds of people everywhere and it looked like they made the fair even bigger as well.

The same smiling clowns walked around, some in stilts as they grin at the passerby while carrying cotton candy in their hands.

A few magicians sit in their booths as they work their magic for the ones who believe in it. It was mesmerizing.

We continue walking when my eyes catch sight of the Gravitron up ahead.

My mind instantly snaps back to a tall, dark haired guy that had me lingering more than twice to get a good look at him.

I slow my steps, and my eyes couldn’t help but glance around the fairgrounds to see if maybe I could catch sight of him this year. I knew he worked here given his brother does, but I also was intrigued to find out who was behind the mask.

What if it was him?

What if it was Sebastian?
