“Um?” is all I could squeak out.
The figure doesn’t say anything just keeps staring down at me, with a still frame.
My heart was literally about to bust through my chest.
I could see the tabloids now.
“Girl has a heart attack after seeing a haunted actor.”
How embarrassing.
“Um. So, as I said.” I swallow. “I am very sorry I’m here later than I was supposed to, but it was mistake and I’m just trying to leave.”
A slide of sweat trails down my chest, and I could feel it soak my shirt.
It wasn’t even hot outside.
He don’t say anything at all, so I take that as my cue to leave.
I side step.
They turn their head in the direction I start walking.
I think I’m in the clear and start to walk farther away, when the person starts following me.
No.
No.
No.
Fuck no.
I look ahead of me, and see the parking lot is only a little bit ways down.
“Hey.” I said as they got closer.
I point.
“Look, my car is right there. I just need to go.”
They stand there, only two feet away from me.
This was insane.
Maybe he was security?
I feared if I ran, they would chase me.
And that was terrifying to think of when he had about a foot above me.
I walk backwards as I keep my eyes on the masked man.
He moves.
Closer.
Closer.
