"How bad do you need the money?" he retorts.

Badly, but not badly enough to fuck four men!

"What do I have to do?" I ask.

"Whatever they ask."

"Well, that is not an answer. I am not fucking them, Tal."

"I think the youngest one just wants to play with you a bit."

What the fuck is that supposed to mean? Play with me? There are plenty of definitions of play, sordid and not sordid, like play cards, or… I shudder at the other thoughts that come to mind.

"I… I think I will pass. Maybe one of the other girls," I start to say as I step away, but he grips both my arms, leading me toward the curtained-off area.

"You don't have to fuck them, just see what they want," he says.

"I don't have to sleep with them?" I ask, my heart beating in my chest like a drum.

"Not unless you want to. Better tip," he chuckles, and I scoff. I am not about to sell off my virginity for a shitty thousand dollars.

"Who are they?" I ask him.

"That doesn't concern you, but they asked for you, so," he shrugs.

Well, it isn't like they would recognize me. I have a mask on. Maybe they just want me to dance or something. That wouldn't be so bad, and maybe the money would be enough to tide Martha over until I get my first paycheck.

"They won't hurt you. One of them is my cousin, okay? And you don't have to do anything you don't want to. Just go in there, and when you come out, I will give you the money," Talon says, and I chew my lip.

Martha will kill me if I come home empty-handed, and I only have two hours before I need to have something for her. Fine, let's get this over with, I think. I nod, wondering if I am making a mistake. I am definitely making a mistake, but bills, rent… I need to do this.

"Good girl," Tal says, slapping my butt and making me jump. He nudges me toward the curtain. I open it, stepping inside and instantly regretting it as I soon recognize one of the men. It’s the man I ran into earlier. What are the chances of having another run-in with him today? I want to flee, but I am soon overwhelmed with Alpha scent!

Not even my suppressants, which are starting to wear off, could save me from the Alphas’ dominant auras and the scent that threatened to overwhelm my mind and control. Their scents wash over me, my pheromones going haywire, and I want to retreat as I run my eyes over the four men that are way more intimidating in person than from afar. I gulp, turning to leave, only to smack into the chest of another that stood off to the side. Only he moves so quickly, cutting off my exit, that I stumble backward.

Only to bump into another one. His breath on my neck sends a shiver up my spine as his scent envelopes me. He runs his nose across my shoulder and up my neck, stopping below my ear. A deep, rumbling purr awakes senses I usually try to keep locked away. I lean back against him, when I feel sharp points press against my skin, and my eyes fly open, a gasp leaving my lips. I shove him back, looking for an escape, when I’m yanked onto the lap of one man, his hands grabbing and holding me in place.

"Please, I changed my mind. I want to leave," I murmur in panic. Too many scents, and I feel out of control. I should have doubled my suppressants this morning, I think when the man's voice purrs below my ear and gentle fingers sweep my hair over one shoulder.

"He won't hurt you. He just wants to have a taste," he purrs at me, and I feel fangs pierce my neck. A moan escapes me as his saliva fills me with endorphins, and my body turns to putty in his hands. His tongue laps at my neck as he tugs me closer, his grip like iron, when he rips his teeth from my neck and growls.

Chapter Seven

~Harlow~

"Omega," he groans lewdly, when I find myself abruptly tossed onto the floor. My backside hits hard. It takes everything not to cry out. He just shoved me, as if he thinks I’m diseased and contagious. My Omega instincts take over, wanting to please the Alphas and beg for forgiveness, but I squash it down quickly. The sting of rejection is like a slap in the face. Stupid Omega instincts and Alpha pheromones are messing with my head.

I touch my fingers to my neck when I feel the trickle of warm blood run down it. Hybrid? I think to myself. I glance at the men to find them glaring at me, and two of them growl, making me flinch. What did I do?

I swallow when the largest of them stands. If looks could kill, I would be dust. His murderous growl is thunderous and I come face to face with the man I spilled coffee on earlier. I’m glad for the mask obscuring half my face, so he can’t recognize me, yet he doesn’t even give me a backward glance as he storms out, making tears brim in confusion. I hate that instinct makes me helpless against Alphas. I should have taken extra suppressants, but I needed maximum tips tonight, and nothing drives Alphas crazier than natural Omega pheromones.

Now all I want to do is crawl back into my little Den, in my shitty apartment, and curl into a ball. It’s stupid that strangers, people I do not know, can reject and toss me away so easily, and it has this effect on me all because I was born with genes I despise.

I gather myself, wiping the tears of humiliation and rejection off my face, when Brianna walks in. She notices me and is quick to rush over to me. She grips my arms.

"I'm okay, just stupid instincts," I tell her, and she nods sadly. She is Beta blood, and she uses it to her advantage. She doesn't crumble and fall at the feet of Alphas. Brianna isn't the lowest on the food chain. I wish I had the confidence she has, how she can easily slip into the stereotypical Omega stuff, despite her not being one. Yet here I am, an Omega, and I fail miserably at it.

Yet I hate being Omega, hate that Alphas hold such control over us just because we are made for Alphas. Omegas are the only ones who can take their knots. I must be an oddity. I despise what I am. Brianna would kill to be an Omega, while I'd kill to be Beta. At least then, I wouldn't have to reform or put up with baser instincts I hate.
