As my eyes take in more of the room, I barely hold back the anger that is slowly filling my veins. It burns through me with such vigor that I’m not sure if I can keep quiet any longer.
I count dozens of various sex toys left out on the desks. If this were any other scenario, it would look fucking hilarious, but it’s so damn sick that this is what they teach here. Suction cup dildos stamp each desk surface. I want to get away from here before I lose it, so I urge Leo to move forward.
My relief doesn’t last for long. Leo stops at the door to the next room. This one has racks of skimpy clothing and ridiculous make-up stands. I can’t understand how anyone can think this is even close to normal.
They must find natural beauty useless, so they force young Omegas to paint themselves as clowns, just to follow insane beauty standards. And what should be a room for sex education looks more fitting as a place to train high-end prostitutes.
We keep walking and stop at another door. This room is such a polar opposite to what we’ve already seen that it almost feels as if we have entered a different dimension.
This has to be some sort of etiquette class. It’s all I can assume based on the picture on the wall — a tall woman balancing a book on her head.
No one should be able to call these classrooms. Hell, none of them have anything a normal classroom should have. I definitely don’t remember ever seeing them in my school.
As much as I can recall, my classroom walls mostly held maps and graphs — the classes focused on geography, history, math, languages, science, and so on.
Everything I see is obscene, utterly disgusting, and fucking disturbing. It’s inappropriate for children who are supposed to learn life skills here. Instead, they are taught how to please Alphas and to keep their mouth shut to avoid being beaten by the very men they are sold to.
Growling, I turn to Leo to find him watching me. He takes a step aside, clearly fishing for a reaction to the things he’s showing me.
My face must be burning bright red as he spits out, “I may be an Alpha, but I never agreed with the curriculum in these places. Sit, obey, fuck. It’s one of the reasons I refused to let my daughter attend the sanctuary.”
I nod in agreement. Seeing this place with my own eyes and listening to Leo’s observations makes me even more certain about the need to change the laws. If my daughter turns out to be Omega, I will kill anyone who dares to put her into one of these places.
Leo leads me to the back of the huge facility and blocks off the area. Surprisingly, he turns out to be a master lockpick. I watch as he easily unlocks the door with the small tool kit he brought with him.
When I first noticed his kit, I stared at him as if he just grew a second head. It proves you can’t judge someone based on first impressions. I assumed he was planning on using his claws or something. Leo seems to be a jack of all trades. No wonder Corbin made him pack.
Stepping inside, I find what looks like an office, but there’s a door at the back that leads into a small apartment. It’s clean and neat. Not a single thing is out of place. It’s too quiet for my liking.
Chapter Twenty-Five
Thane
Leo walks around, clearly having been here before. He moves around with such confidence, I’m sure he knows where to find every secret nook and hideout in this place.
I follow Leo to a bedroom, stopping at the door. My eyes take in Curtis, asleep in his bed.
I can’t understand how he thinks it’s appropriate to have his own apartment here. This place is vile and disturbing. Not to mention it gives me the actual creeps.
Walking over to him, I rip the blue and white comforter back. His eyes shoot open at the sudden loss of warmth and comfort it provides.
Curtis jumps awake, startled. Before he has a chance to realize what’s happening, I grab the front of his shirt and drag his sorry ass out of bed. He's too shocked to even recognize me.
While I grab Curtis, Leo races into the small dining area. I’m suddenly grateful he’s here. The anger burning inside me is taking over my senses, so having him here is sort of a blessing. As long as Leo is around, I won’t think about killing this piece of trash. At least for now.
Leo pulls out a chair, and I toss Curtis into it. The chair flies backward, but I catch it by gripping the arms before it tips all the way back.
Curtis, the worm he is, raises his hands to protect his face. It’s funny how he thinks that’s where he’ll be hit first. I can think of a million things more painful than a punch in the face.
He looks petrified as his gaze jumps between me and Leo. When Curtis finally returns to his senses, he drops his hands and gasps. “Leo? Thane?” he asks, finally recognizing us.
His mouth remains open in shock until Leo tosses a glass of water in his face. Curtis chokes on the liquid. He coughs as most of the water goes into his mouth. That’s what he gets for acting like an idiot and forgetting to shut his damn trap. Not to mention the list of other vile shit he’s done, but that topic is still ahead of us.
“Good, it looks like you’re finally awake. Took your damn time,” I growl at him. Curtis rubs a hand down his face, wiping the water off so it now drenches his shirt.
“What is this about? Why are you here?” he barks at us.
I find it funny that Curtis thinks he has the right to demand answers from us. If anything, it’s time for him to shut the fuck up and comply with our demands. I didn’t come here to play games or joke around.
