I was still stuck on what she’d just asked me that I didn’t even bother responding. I just kept this goofy smile on my face, as I nodded my head.

“My team and I will fly you out tomorrow. You don’t have to worry about any expenses. Everything is going to be taken care of for you. I’ll have to fly you out tomorrow because I would need you here to rehearse with my creative team, and we need to go through a sound check. We don’t want you to change anything about what you’re already doing. Your authenticity is what won me over in the first place,” she let me know, and I nodded, telling her that was cool.

“Were you scheduled to work the next three nights?” she asked.

“I’m scheduled to work Friday, Saturday, and Monday,” I let her know.

“So, technically, I’m having you miss work Friday to Monday. The show is Saturday till Monday. You’ll fly back Tuesday. Say a number. What do you make on an average night?” she wanted to know.

I found myself laughing because I could hear the hustle in her. She sounded like one of these niggas out here, specifically my nigga. Wolf will try to have me throw a number at him a few times out of the week so that I can stay home with him. Not to bring up that fuck nigga, but Hitta used to do that shit too.

“No, it’s okay. Like really. Being on stage with you is more than enough of a payment,” I responded, shocking myself that I even said some shit like that.

I literally never turned down money. I stayed with my hand out. My mindset was only different because of who the person was. I felt like this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I was happy for the experience, and not the money.

“Oh, girl please! I’m asking you at the last minute to come out to London for me and perform three nights straight. I would feel low down if I didn’t pay you. Just give me a number. What do you make on an average night?” she questioned.

“I mean, it varies. These next three days will technically be my busy days because it’s the weekend. Mondays are football Mondays, and I’ll be missing that. Minimum, I can bring home thirty racks a night. It just depends who’s in the building that night. If I’m in a section, VIP room, it really depends,” I shared.

She made a whistling noise after I said that and then tapped her index finger against her thumb for emphasis on the clock-it gesture.

“I’ll double that minimum each night. Text me over your full name and everything, so that my team can book your flight. I’ll have everything sent over to you shortly. I really appreciate you for agreeing to do this. I know this was so last minute, so thank you,” she expressed.

I thanked her right back for even considering me. We eventually hung up and I texted her over my full name, along with the rest of my information so she could book my flight.

I decided to call my auntie next. I put a facetime call in to her, and she answered on the 5th ring. When she answered, her beautiful face appeared on the screen. Judging her background, I could tell that she was outside somewhere having lunch. The crystal blue water was in her background. She was holding a martini glass in her hand, so the phone had to have been propped up against something. Her makeup was flawlessly done, and I was in love with the top she was wearing. It was a long sleeve cropped top that tied in the front.

Her titties sat up perfectly. She did something different with her hair. She was rocking a long ponytail that fell all the way down to her ass. Just minimum baby hairs were left out. My auntie looked so good as usual.

“Hi Toot,” she said right before she brought the glass to her lips and took a sip.

“What you doing?” I asked her.

“Having dinner with a friend,” she replied, and that let me know that she was somewhere with a nigga.

“Since when I ever been your friend? Don’t get your ass embarrassed over the phone, Antonisha,” a deep ass voice could be heard in her background. For this man to call her by her government name, which was a name that not many knew, I knew right there that he was more than a friend.

I chuckled, while trying to ask her with my eyes who she was out with. My aunt was one of those women to keep a nigga in rotation. She’s been that way my entire life. It was never small-time niggas that she dealt with either. It was always someone with a big coin. Always someone that would splurge on her.

“What’s up Toot? I’m at dinner. You okay?” she asked me, pretending that she didn’t even hear what the guy next to her said.

“Yeah. Guess who just called me?” I asked, trying to make it quick since she was out.

“Who?” she quickly asked.

“Amaya,” I replied. She looked at me for a few seconds and then her mouth dropped. Amaya was a big deal for both of us.

“Wait. Amaya the singer? She called you? For what? What did she want?” she inquired. You could hear the excitement all in her voice.

“Her international tour starts in a couple of days. Someone from her team showed her my social media. She said she’s been watching all my dance segments at the club, and she fell in love with my hustle. You know her song women hustlers, right? Well, that’s the last song that she’s going to perform the night of the concert. She wants me on stage with her. I’m going to dance. She’ll be in London for three nights and she wants me there all three nights. I l fly out tomorrow. What are you doing for the rest of the week? Come with me auntie,” I said everything to her all in one breath.

I could have asked any one of my girls, but I wanted my aunt to come. She was the one to put me on game to Amaya’s music in the first place. She was the one to give me all the game when it came to being a dancer, so it was only right to bring her with me to London for this big moment in my life.

“What? Deja, that’s huge. I’m so proud of you, Toot! Being on stage with Amaya. Girl, I just might fuckin cry. I’ll go with you though. What time do we have to leave out tomorrow?” she asked, down to go with me, just like I knew she would be.

“She’s going to send over all the information soon,” I told her.

“Okay. Let me know. You know I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” she said, and I believed her.
