Fuckable! This man was fuckable. My mind hadn’t been able to get him out of it since I met him. God took His time when He created Ledger “Kryptonite” Johnson. I felt like it wasn’t a one-day type of creation either. He set with this design and guaranteed the quality of this man.
I took a moment to take him in. He was relaxed today, which was a very different vibe from when we first met. I liked it more than I cared to admit. It was obvious that he had been to the barber very recently from the fresh line-up and beard trim. He wanted a reaction to his good looks, and I was sad to say he got it. There was no way I would ever let him know that he made my pussy drool.
We had an obvious attraction to each other. Normally, I wouldn’t entertain a client, well, potential client, in that way. For Ledger Johnson, there was a deep-seeded desire to risk it all for the dick. Anything deeper was not guaranteed, but the dick, . . . I knew I could get that. Business! That was what we were here for.
I grabbed my tablet bag, opened it, then pulled it out. Once it was in my hand, I grabbed my portfolio, then moved to one of the tables to set myself up. “You can sit down.”
He chuckled before he walked in my direction. “Has anyone ever told you that you were bossy? How are you going to tell me what to do in my own establishment, Memoree Layne?”
I huffed then responded. “I need to show you this. Don’t be difficult.”
“I could have looked at it at the bar. I’m not a difficult person.” He was like a teenager, but not in a bad way necessarily.
I pulled up the presentation. The titter that left my lips was unavoidable. “I can’t tell,” I mumbled.
“Oh, you’ll be able to tell soon. There’ll only be one thing that’s difficult about me.” His tone was flirtatious, so I took what he said in that light.
My forearms leaned on the table. I focused on his beautiful eyes. “Mr. Johnson, are you being unprofessional and inappropriate with me?”
He matched my energy. “Miss Smith, is your mind in the get some dick gutter? If I were being unprofessional and inappropriate, would you be offended?”
My eyes widened a bit at his call out. Whew, chile. “How about we get to the lights? Let’s talk about that.”
“We can talk about anything you want, love. You run this shit for right now.” Once again, his tone was suggestive. Leave it alone, Memoree Layne.
Like the stubborn person I was known to be, I just couldn’t. “I’m starting to believe that I was put here for more than lights. You are certainly a test of my patience.”
His left ear lowered to his shoulder. “I don’t think I’m testing your patience. I think I’m getting you ready for what’s to come. It takes a lot to be with a nigga like me, and I’m sure the same is true for you.”
His words caught me completely off guard. They were so forward. I wasn’t used to that. My pussy started to show her forwardness with that damn drooling. My body shifted in my seat. “Um, are we going to talk about these lights in here or not?”
His hands went up in surrender. It made no sense how sexy his laugh was. “You got it, Miss Smith. Please present your proposal. I’m excited to hear and see it.”
“Let’s get into it.” For the next hour, I went over the lighting design that I came up with. At one point in the presentation, we were up on our feet. I wanted to walk the lounge with him so he could see what I envisioned clearly. “Whoever designed your lighting understood what you wanted for the most part. Who came up with the current lighting design, if you don’t mind me asking?”
His eyes were on the VIP section, where I told him that the lighting wasn’t even. There were some sections that were warmer than the others. We talked about that fuck-ass chandelier as well. The annoyance sat on his face unapologetically during that conversation. “Me.”
My face scrunched a little at his answer. “Wait, what? You designed the lighting in here?”
“I mean, yeah. Most of the concepts anyway. I thought I knew what I was doing. Clearly, I thought wrong,” he said with a titter.
“Well, I wouldn’t go that far to say that your thought process was wrong. I’m actually impressed. You did well for someone who doesn’t have training in lighting design,” I admitted.
He cupped his hand around his ear. “Come again? Can you say that for me again?”
With a giggle, I said, “I will not.” I changed the image on my tablet to the main bar. Ignoring him, I continued to talk about what I was here for. “Your lights here make the room feel like one big room.”
The top of his nose scrunched. He crossed his arms over his chest. “Why is that a bad thing?”
“Your members don’t use every space in here at the same time. At the bar, you want functional illumination, but you still want an intimate feeling. People in this area order drinks, talk to each other and the bartenders. You want them to be able to actually read the bottle labels.”
I pointed over to the table section in the lounge. That section sat between the bar and the VIP section. The layout of the lounge was narrower than wide. “This is where people will settle themselves.”
“Okay, well, what about my VIP area?” he asked. He was intrigued. That was exactly how I wanted him.
I smiled. “Now, your VIP should feel special. Your membership requirements already create an exclusive feel. This section should be even more exclusive. When my sister, best friend, and I sat there, it should have felt like we were personally invited to sit there because we were.” I paused for affect. “That wasn’t how it felt.”
He chuckled. “So you’re telling me that you can do all of that with a change to my lighting? That seems a little hard to believe.”
