“I do.”

Caleb grabs me.

Archer sighs. “I didn’t say kiss her yet.”

“Too late.”

Then Caleb’s mouth is on mine and Devil’s Peak erupts around us.

We last forty-seven minutes at our own reception.

I know because I check.

“You’re insane,” I whisper as Caleb pulls me through the upstairs hallway of the lodge.

“Probably.”

“People are going to notice we’re gone.”

“Don’t care.”

“Sally will come looking.”

“I locked the door.”

I stop. “You planned this?”

He opens the bedroom door. “Emily.”

“What?”

“I’ve been planning this since you walked downstairs in that dress.”

He pulls me inside. The door locks behind us. Music pounds faintly through the floorboards. People are laughing downstairs. Glasses clink. Somebody cheers.

I point toward the floor. “Our wedding reception is happening down there.”

“Yep.”

“And we’re hiding upstairs.”

“Yep.”

His jacket hits the chair.

I back toward the bed.

“You’re a terrible host.”

“I’m not the host.”

“You’re the groom.”

“Exactly.”

His hands find my hips.

I laugh as he kisses me.
