“You’re giving me your bed.”
“Because I’m too big for you to move.”
I stare.
His mouth twitches.
“That’s incredibly arrogant.”
“Also true.”
“I could take you.”
His eyes change.
Just slightly.
My stomach drops.
He steps closer.
“Careful.”
“I meant in a fight.”
“I know what you meant.”
“Then why are you looking at me like that?”
“Like what?”
“You know exactly like what.”
He lowers his voice.
“Maybe don’t tell a man you can take him while standing next to his bed.”
My cheeks burn.
“You’re disgusting.”
“You walked into that one.”
“I hate you.”
“No, you don’t.”
He’s close enough that I have to tilt my head back.
His gaze falls to my mouth.
My pulse kicks.
“You’re very confident for a man sleeping on a couch.”
“I’m sleeping on the couch because I’m a gentleman.”
I snort.
